My 1995 celica gt its a manual but when im accelerating in 2nd gear feels and sounds like an automatic obviously affecting performance

Hi Carla Difficult question to answer without test driving your car. Now Im not sure if your car is a manual or automatic.
Three things come to mind 1 Brake shudder Should not affect engine unless manual gears and clutch is not being depressed quick enough to compensate. 2 clutch judder same result as no 1 above (manual gears). 3 Possible air leak on brake booster WILL affect engine running normally you will hear a slight woosh sound when putting brake pedal down. Manual or automatic transmission? If manual, go a little faster and skip 2nd gear, till you can get the money to fix it. If it automatic, It will eventually quit pulling. Noise in them is usually metal grinding. The longer you drive it, the more damage it will cause. And affect many other parts in there. A $2000 fix will turn into a $4000 fix.

nice car sounds like 2ng gear syncro is going and check the connection at your trans for the tach

Gear lock in tranny or bleed clutch

What you drained is the transmission fluid.Just refill the transmission.Should be fairly easy.4 to 5 quarts.

get a can of BG TRANS FLUSH you will find at a auto part store put it in, drive it for about 20 min take it home change the fluid and filter and try that if problem still accurs after that your going to need a rebuild.

overdrive is used when you are trying to accelerate going up a steep hill. have you ever noticed when you are going up a hill that you can not maintain speed? hit this button and you wount need to floor it

have you checked the transmission fluid? if it is low can cause this. if not then it is an internal problem in transmission.

disconnect the battery for now ,sounds like one of the electrical solonoids in the drivers door is the most obvious

It's hard to understand when you say it feels like a manual shift. Noise? Feel? I do know that the 87 auto trans does have a weak 1st to 2nd shift drum (as explained to me by my mechanic) that makes a grinding, elongated shift under heavy acceleration when it starts to wear. Under normal acceleration, 1st to 2nd shifts were normal (crisp, immediate). Since that day 8 years ago, I've avoided starting off to quickly, and so far have saved myself a tranny overhaul.
