I have the same problem with my 3.1. Some times it will just cutoff when I am coasting on a downhill grade or coming to a stop. I replaced the IACV twice and the ignition control module. I have not been able to find a vac. leak. I had a friend tell me that he thinks it is in the torque sensor.

I had an oldsmodbile that did the same thing and it was a vacuum hose problem. You need to check all your vacuum hoses for leaks and the connections.

1991 cutlass supreme will not hold brake fluid. i think its leaking under the hood somewhere. what might it be?

If it's leaking under the hood it could be master cylinder or lines. If you're not sure, where leak is, I'd have a competent shop look at it, it's a safety issue and second guessing can be costly.

Hi I have a 1991 Olds Cutlass Supreme, with a 3.1 liter engine. My problem is when the car warms at stops it runs rough. Sometimes shuts off. Sometimes when crusing at speeds 30-50 the car sort of jerks...

My 3.4 liter 91 Cutlass Supreme has similar problem when warm the engine misses (car jerks). But its fine at idle and without any accelerator pressure. The SERVICE ENGINE light also comes on intermittantly. I am going to test the ignition coils.

Falls dead when driving, will restart after awhile

Did you try checking or replacing the coolant sensor? I think you should replace it along with the thermostat. Are there any problems like sputtering or any unusual noises or symptoms? Smoke, anything?

Check for fuses/power/ground to the engine computer (or injector drive computer) whatever the case is.

Spark, fuel pump, and starter all are independant of the fuel injection computer.

Either the computer itself has gone bad, or it is not receiving power or ground, or wiring to the injectors might be bad...
