Hi loosen all the bolts a small bit then let the window down and back up then tighten the bolts. Also when it's down spray some lube down the track both sides where the glass travels. Regards Jim...
This a common problem on the chrysler products. The whole assembly inside the door while need replacing. I thinks once you get the panel off there is only about 5 screws that have to be removed. the assembly comes already as one piece. its really not to hard to change.
it sound like you already have the door panel off. the steel cable is part of the window regulator, if the cable has come off it usally means something on the regulator has broken and the whole regulator has to be replaced. #7 - window regulator
Unfortanatly the regulators are going to need to be replaced. This is a pretty common problem on these vehicles. I had an 2001, and my kid slammed the door which in turn caused this to happen. Not to mention I have replaced 50-60 of these in the past year.
After you have removed the screws (one behind the door handle, you will see a little tab, pull it back to expose the screw) lift the panel and look behind it, there you will see (2) rods going to the door handle and lock. Use a small screw driver to pry the keepers away very gently. Pull the rods away from the keepers. Also, you may want to remove the panels from the arm rest and disconnect the wires from the control panel. I just replaced the window regulator for the second time.
Remove the door panel and find the window motor
Unplug it and using a separate car battery run cables directly to the window motor
When you switch the polarity the motor will either bring the window up or down or if noting happened change the window motor and window regulator assembly.
