There should be screws in the front door panels hiding under plastic clips at the door handle levers and the grab handel possibly under the window switch pack and along the bottom of the door then you just get a flat putty knife and pop the panels off there are a dozen or so push in plastic clips attached to the back of the door panels, as for the back deck lid you will go in the trunk and remove the ten mm bolts for the third brake light and remove that and look for any other ten mms sticking down and remove them. the rest will be clips that just pop up , make sure you have the proper wire harness adaptors for you stock speaker wireing so you dont have to cut them off to attach your new speakers -jeff

Replace front speakers

You would have to open the door panel to replace front speakers. Look for any screws around the door handle. look at the whole door panel for any screws so that you may remove the panel in order to reach the speakers. once the panel is free from any visible screws, use a door panel remover ($5-10) and use it to pry off the panel, use it around the door panel push-in connectors, and don't use extreme force, may break connectors. once the connectors around the whole panel are removed. make sure your window is down before the whole procedure. then pick up the panel from the bottom (push up), then the panel should be off the door, if you want to change the speakers, you don't need to take any of the wiring to the window/door lock. simply remove the cover if any over the stock speakers, usually some screws. once the cover/screws are off. the speaker should come off. You will see two wires off the speakers (the red(positive) the black(negative)), once the stock speaker is removed, simply attatch the new speaker to the wires. make sure the negative and positive from the car DO NOT TOUCH, you WILL short circuit and blow a fuse, maybe worse, and it's not worth the time fixing. hope this helps, good luck.

Do i have to remove the door panel to take off door speaker covers? Speaker covers are starting to rust and want to remove all 4 speaker covers on door just to paint them. Trying to remopve without...

I believe that your speaker covers are clipped in through the back of the panel and won't come out through the front without breaking some of the clips. The proper way would be to remove the door panels and remove the covers out the back of the panel.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can remove the panel

Rain water leaks through front driver side speaker.

Most of the door panels have a plastic liner - usually white between the door and the door panel. It normally is glued onto the inside of the metal door itself. There is a formed indentation for the speaker that are supposed to keep the moisture from entering the speaker from the back side. Thus, the speaker should only be wet if it gets wet from inside the car. I would make sure that the speaker has this kind of a shield on the back side. Rick

How do you replace the front door speakers in a 1999 Model Hyundai Excel?

You have to take the door panels off.
The front speakers are 6"
So remove the front door panels, unbolt the factory speakers, bolt the new one in the existing holes, reinstall the door panels.
The grills will look factory, but you will have better speakers. Nice way to keep the good stuff hidden from prying eyes.

Caravan air filter

The air filter for the cabin is located inside the van, look under the glove box door there should be a plastic holder that slides to the rearward of the van pull this back and a flat plastic door will come off, the door is two parts.

Some base vans do not have this filter if you look at the bottom of this and see a 1/2 long plastic stud sticking out of the bottom there is no filter in this.

Taking off the side doors speaker covers

you need to take off the door panels to get to the speakers.

There are a total of six screws holding it on. Two at the front, two at the rear, one behind the handle to open the door, and one at the bottom of the door pull.

Remove those and gently pull the door loose. There are plastic clips also holding it on so you will have to use a little pressure to get it off.

Once the panel is loose you need to unhook the wire harness for the windows and locks. There is a button on the back side that you need to push in while pulling the plug out.

Installation is reverse of removal.
