Won't start but crank good - 1999 Honda Accord

    I have the same problem. I had someone look at it and they said it is the fuel pump. I have not had mine replaced yet.

Could be the main relay- esp. if won't start when it's been hot. It is under dash- where depends on the year. I found a great site to fix it yourself at http://techauto.tripod.com/

Car won't start put in new battery but still won't start cranks real good.


Is there a check engine light on? Did car crank with old battery or you just replaced to see if would start?

check all wires to starter motor for bad earth.....make sure power reaching starter motor.....check starter motor isnt stuck

2000 sable won't start. Battery good, gets fuel, tries to start, but won't fire.


Does the vehicle gets spark? if yes check with scanner whether is there any problem with crank or cam sensor failure.

Done cars have a kill switch if they are low on oil. Check your oil. If the oil is good, it may be the ignition switch.

My 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan will crank but won't start.


Hi, if an engine cranks but refuses to start, it lacks ignition, fuel or compression. When the engine cranks normally but won't start, you need to check ignition, fuel and compression. Ignition is easy enough to check with a spark tester or by positioning a plug wire near a good ground. No spark? The most likely causes would be a failed ignition module, distributor pickup or crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
