When you undo the battery cables all you are doing is reseting the computer and not erasing any codes. I willing to bet that all it is a blown fuse for the airbag or you may unpluged the wrong terminal when changing the compressor. double check
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Normally the light comes on when airbag fuse is blown. But it could be a bad airbag sensor located at the front of the vehicle. Check fuse first, if that's not it, I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to have sensor changed. They are very delicate sensor and could deploy airbag if not done carefully.
this code refers to leak detection pump, you may have either a broken vaccuum line or a loose gas cap. if you are not familiar with leak detection you may want to get a shop involved, the price shouldn't be outrageous
it means that your Evap system has small venting leak. gas cap is most common cause. if after the gas cap is changed reset light, if it returns then you will need to get a smoke test done in order to find the leak.
It is called the "clockspring". You were close. Normally when the clockspring goes bad, the airbag light will come on and the horn is also affected. Not sure why the engine light is on. I think you are on the right track. There is a recall for the 1996 caravan for the clockspring problem but it only is for vehicles with 70,000 miles or less.
ok, if the airbag light is on, there is a fault with the unit, your concerns are valid, if it has a faulty sensor the airbag MAY fire for no reason or not fire when you actually need it. if it has a recall on it, take it to the dealer so they can rectify the fault.
Recalls are a warranty repair from the manufacturer if they try to charge you scream the joint down
To check the code for the engine light without OBD tools for dodge caravan is to switch on the key 3 times without starting the car and you will see the code displayed on the Odometer display. Then check for the document what king of engine problem for that code.
Sounds like the HVAC control head needs to be recalibrated. The procedure is fairly easy, Heres how its done:
CALIBRATION/DIAGNOSTICS TEST ENTRY TO INITIATE TESTS: Set Blower motor ON HIGH Set Mode position to Panel Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped) Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light) RESULTS: All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds Calibration Test is running when REAR WIPER and INTERMITTENT are alternately flashing. Cooldown test is running if A/C and RECIRC are alternately flashing. Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit. After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately.
After that the lights should go out and everything should work properly as long as everything is in proper working order.
