I'd unbolt or unplug a line going into the fuel filter or into the engine and take it from there. You'd have to power the fuel pump though to make it squirt. Some cars have a test plug right in the engine compartment that if grounded or has power applied to it, it will energize the fuel pump.

That could be a problem with injectors. Try to clean them first. The second cause may be gas filter(s) clogged up if you were using dirty gas (e.g. from metal can). Last of easy fixing problem is a gas pump replacement. Everything else (including full examination) can be done at the dealership only.
Your problem is the fuel gauge sending unit. It needs to be replaced. Another benefit of owning the durable festiva is the access panel under the back seat. You don't have to drop the tank to fix this problem.
Hello. You may have a problem with the fuel sending mechanism in your gas tank or you may have a fungus in your gas tank which is causing it to show much more fuel than you actually have. Drive to an AAMCO repair shop where they will scan your car's computer for free [some auto parts stores now offer this free as well so call around]. If it is mechanical it should show up on the scan, if not you probably have the gas fungus. Some auto parts stores and dealerships now sell an expensive gas tank additive that will kill that fungus. need to check throttle position sensor,or mass air flow,,,,u can try a aditive LUCAS fuel treatment, and 2 bottles of heet, with half tank of gas ,if it is the injectors ,and contamination it will clear it up
