To remove the fuel pump, you need to either drop the fuel tank or remove the bed. The pump is in the fuel tank. Personally, I remove the bed, it is easier than dropping the tank, and, more often than not, the tank bolts breal off, or you damage the metal lines on the sending unit. Fuel filter? I NEVER change them unless the fuel is contaminated. It is in the engine compartment; down low. Note that if you DO change the filter, be prepared to replace your fuel lines. The filter metal and the line metal are slightly dis-similar, and "galding" is always possible. That being said, if you take the filter off of the line, 99 times out of 100 the threads on the line will stay on the filter. Not good.

Almost ran my 99 taurus out of gas . After filling up the car started sputtering and barely made it home where it now wont start. It turns over. Is it my fuel filter now

Unfortunately, you need to locate your fuel rail and use a fuel pressure servce tool to determine if you have a pressure problem. Master fuel o ressure kits have the ability to check fuel pressure before and after fuel filter. When ever you run a tank completely dry it overheats the fuel pump. You should never let your tank get below a 1/4 because the submersed fuel around the pump acts as the pumps cooling system. When a tank is ran lw constantly it kills the kife of the fuel pump.

I have a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood, How do I determine if the fuel pump is bad or the fuel pump relay?

Replace the relay as they are fairly inexpensive and if that doesn't solve the problem the pump located in the gas tank may need to be replaced. I'm assuming you have first changed the fuel filter. Also if there's water in the fuel add some Heet fuel additive to disperse the water and also add some fuel injection cleaner to the tank as it can't hurt.

Seems like no fuel reaching motor, possible block in fuel filter?

The fuel line from the tank, the fuel pump, to the fuel filter and the fuel injection system , pump and injectors must be checked ONE BY ONE.
However the fuel filter must be changed in a span of about at least 10000 miles or much earlier if the fuel has dirt .
A code check can determine your fault and your electrical system must also be looked into.

Fuel filter for the chevy uplander

The fuel filter on this vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is an integral part of the fuel pump module assembly. As such, it's not replaceable by itself and can only be serviced by replacing the entire pump module. It's a "lifetime" filter, in theory anyway, but it can plug up if there has been a large amount of crud that has gotten into the tank somehow. The best way to determine if the filter is restricted is to have the fuel pressure tested as part of a road test drive to see if the pressure remains steady [indicating a good pump and ok filter] or drops off [indicating a restricted filter or weak pump] Hope this helps!

For Kia Sorento 2003-2005 the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and is replaced with the fuel pump as an assembly.

Fuel filter location

The Fuel Filter is in the Fuel Tank, the Filter is considered a "lifetime" filter, that does not need to be replaced... which is not correct.... mine was clogged at 99,500 miles, and stopped my car from running all together.... I would replace the fuel pump and filter at 100K miles or 120K miles when you drop the fuel tank.. the pumps either go at 80-120K or never....

Fuel pump or filter

As a general rule , filters should be replaced once a year. If in doubt replace the filter, it probably needs it anyhow. the pump can be scoped and the pressure tested and the general health determined.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 hyundai accent

The fuel filter on a 2005 Hyundai Accent depending on where it was manufactured and when, is possibly external and on the outside of the fuel tank directly above the fuel pump and accessible by removing the back seat. Or it is actually inside the fuel tank and requires removing the back seat, the metal panel, the fuel pump itself and then accessing the filter. Your vin. no. can determine which model you have and of course how much work you'll have to do
