My drivers side window is stuck half way down. Honda Accord 1996. It has been acting tempromentally from time to time now it just won't cfome up any more. It stiil goes down fine. I have lubricated everything in sight with no luck. I have the inside panel off and inspected the pulley's and tracking but still no idea why this is happening. Regulator perhaps??

This can be a difficult task, and requires a great deal of patience, and some pratical experience, Having done a many of them on various makes and models, the past years, I don't remember a one that worked out easy. Don't get me wrong, I am not real familiar with your particular model, but just saying they can be a bear. I don't know of a manual with step by steps in it, but then I am retired now, and there could well be one this day and time.

If the down works but not the up then it is most likely a faulty window switch - a new OEM switch is very expensive so look at ebay for used ones. Replacing a switch is very time consuming - I just replaced the regulator (with motor) and the switch on my 1991 Accord. You need to remove the trim panel - a couple screws and a plug - be carfeul to unhook wiring before taking off completely. Then on the backside of the panel there are several crazy Japanese clips that need to be removed to access the switch assembly. I would suggest replacing the regulator with motor at the same time - and that takes patience as noted above and nimble fingers to use a 14mm rachet head to loosen the bolts that hold the window to the top of the regulator arm - once loosened the arm can be compressed and removed from the door. Keep the old one and note the position so you can replace the new one in the same manner. Be sure to try to keep the plastic door lining in tact and replace with duct tape if needed.

Where does the power window fuse go on a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire. It says passenger compartment- but where is that? In the door?

the fuse panel is on the end of the dash on the drivers side. You'll need to have the drivers door open to get at it. Remove the panel and you will see all the fuses. The windows are usually on a circuit breaker which I have never seen one fail. If your windows don't work there is likely another problem.

How to replace a driver side power mirror on a 1996 camaro?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls and mirror. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror assembly onto the door

1996 Mystique- suddenly the power window on the driver's side won't close or move, it makes a sound like it's trying to do something when I press the button but no movement.

it really sounds like you will need a new window regulator. for your vehicle there are a couple options, your local salvage yard or on line auto parts warehouse (I use you can search and order this and any additional parts you will need for your car. you will need to remove the door panel, normally a few screws and pry off the panel with some type of flat blade screw driver or pry bar. remove the plastic lining very carefully (if it is still on the door), the window will need to be taken out of the door, normally secured to the base by two screws or bolts or retaining clips. the window tracks normally have an upper and lower bolt securing them to the door, remove these, lastly the window regulator has three or four bolts, remove those and remove the old regulator and replace and re assemble as you have taken apart, look for about three to four hours, Good luck!

Passenger side power window does not go down

I would start by locating the fuse for the power windows, if one side is working move to step 2. I have replaced window regulators on several american vehicles, the honda should be no different. Youcan order the power window regulator online on, or take a chance at your local junkyard. you will need to remove the door panel, start at the release mechanism inside, usually 1 screw with a small plastic cover. in addition, 1 screw in the grab area of the arm rest, also covered. at the bottom of the panel under the arm rest start to pry off the door panel, you can take it off with a flat blade screwdriver or flat pry bar. it will make a snapping sound. then proceed, there are about about 8-10 total clips. after this is done, you will need to un hook the power window and door lock connections. next remove the door light connection at the bottom of the door. remove the plastic lining as careful as possible. you will need to put this back on after you finish. usually there are three screws attached to the regulator and 4 screws, 2 on each side of the alignment tracks. in addition there are 2 screws holding the window to the brace that moves up and down. remove the window bolts first and remove the glass, then proceed with the rest of the bolts, then re assemble as you have taken apart. On the hondas I would say about 2-3 hours will be need for each window. Good Luck!!!

It is not a fuse. All of the windows are on thje same circuit. You either have a bad window motor, or a bad driver side door master window cantrol switch.
