Hi......
The HEAD Lights and Tail Lights. Use a individual FUSE.
One for Head lights
One for tail Lights.

If the teil Lights don't work. Check all the fuses. Replace if you found any Blowout.
Check for damaged BULBS. because some times a Burn bulb.
Make a Fuse blowout.

OK... I hope this help to try solve your problem.
Thank you for use fixya..

Have you checked the fuse, the HD lights are not on the same circuit as the tail lights, for safety reasons.

Since we do this for free the least you could do is rate this as helpful, thanks for trying is a negative remark, and I will tell you this if you go to the dealer they will check the fuses even if you say you have, then they will test the headlight switch, you did test the bulbs? the dealer will do this as well, how do I know? I was a ASE ceritified master techinician for 30 years at a local new car dealer.

I have a 1988 caprice classic my headlight, brakelights, hazarad lights works but i have no taillights why it want work

it could be the dash board light switch is bad.
may be fuse.
check for power at the tail lights with test light or meter.
may be a fault ground ( not likely) or a bad taillight wire.
did you check the bulbs they have more then one filament in them.

Tail lights and dash lights out in 96 dodge ram. all other lights work. already replaced headlight switch. still no tail lights

does the fuse keep blowing ?? it is also on the same line as the cigarette lighter if the fuse is blowing check that there is nothing stuck in the lighter socket that is shorting it out. Could also be a bad ground wire not makeinig contact.

Chevy k10 headlight/taillight problem

the fuses are located on the left side of the drivers foot well. these trucks have problems with rot and when they start to fall apart the beds move around and short out the taillights and youll usually lose the dash lights with the tails but the headlights are separate.

My 95 galany blows the tailight fuse everytime i turn on the headlights I still have breaklights turn signals and headlights but no taillights

you could have a shorted tail light bulb. these also controls the park lights at the fronts. so please check all four bulbs. replace what ever busted bulb you can find.

tnx 4 using fixya,

I have a 96 Suburban. The daytime headlights come on, brake lights work, but I have no tail light. Turn signals work as well. I checked all fuses and changed all tail light bulbs.

More than likely the circuit board on the taillight housing is bad. Very common. Check for melted plastic or corrosion near terminals on bulb in board. You can buy them at Napa for about twenty bucks per side.
