I have a 1991 subaru legacy wagon,2.2L,16 valve. It was running in a parking lot and shut down like someone turned the key off. I've changed the computer, ingnition mod, coil pack-no help! I'm not getting any spark. Can the ingnition key turn the car over but prevent spark or power from getting to the computer or plugs? Thanks, Rick

Hi it can but its very unlikely have you replaced or checked the cam sensor at front passenger side of motor, if that is worn it will kill all the power and spark

I have a 1991 Subaru legacy wagon 5 speed and a 1993 Subaru legacy wagon automatic I was wondering can I use the 1991 wagon for a full manual swap

Yes these cars are the same as far as parts go.
You will need to change some wiring on the automatic car for the manual swap to work without changing the wiring harness.

1994 subaru legacy wagon. Parking lights won't turn off, even with the engine off and key removed. Any idea what's causing this? thanks

If this is the first time that this has happened, check for the wiring. The wiring for the parking lights may be grounded or gone bad or needs replacement. Check for loose wiring from the lights to the box inside the engine bay. if there are no issues there you may inspect the wiring in the steering column for the same,

If someone did else did the wiring for the car the park light may have been connected either directly to the batter or to a hotwire or power connection that not go to the keys. Check for electrical in your car that works without the key. The park light may be tapped to it or they may have come in contact due to wiring problem.

1991 Subaru Legacy L Station Wagon. Will not crank, only occassionally. I already re-built the starter and thouroughly cleaned all of the contacts and connections. The vehicle had a broken drive shaft...

Need to narrow down whether it's mechanical, as in a chipped starter gear or misaligned starter, or electrical connection. See if the starter solenoid is consistently getting power when you turn ignition key

Automotive problem. 1991 Subaru Legacy C

Lubricant may not resolve it sounds like it could be your water pump froze up. Look to see if it is turning. Even if it turns it still could be bad.Usally the first sign of it going bad. Stop by your local auto parts store to see if they agree.

Automatic shift lever doesn't match actual gear on dash display.

My 1994 legacy has a switch on top of the steering column that turns the parking lights on and off. See if yours does too. Don't know about the shift lever.

I have a 19992 Subaru Brumby which loses ignition spark

its quite possibly the crank angle sensor as they do this when they heat up,the car wont start, till it cools down, you can get the resistance checked on it to see if its ok,but you will need someone with experience to do it but its not a hard job

Do 1991 L series subaru legacy wagons have adjustable valves?

This model does not and uses a hydrallic lash adjuster that works something like the old lifters did. Generally when these collapse or lose hydrallic pressure,a rattling occurs in the valve train. Most generally this is a sign of an oil pressure deficit and may require a new oil pump then hopefully all lash adjusters will pump back up and close the rocker to valve clearance stopping the rattle.
