Question about 2000 Lincoln LS
I just bought a 2000 Lincoln ls V8 3.9L, i've had it for couple of days.I took a drive in it the other day, and noticed the car was overheating. Replaced thermostat, and water pump. Car is still overheating, I need some help?

Absolutely correct. The degas bottles (aka overflow or coolant expansion tanks) in these things crack along a seam. May leak coolant, may not, depending on how high up the degas bottle it cracks. But what it is certain to do is allow air into your system which will cause havoc with the function of your thermostat (air pockets cause it to fail to open) or your flow, particularly at the highest point of the cooling system: your heater core. Pull the degas bottle-you should be able to see the cracks if it is cracked. Mine was obvious (and leaked coolant, but again, not all do). Any honest dealer or mechanic will tell you that they sell/replace thousands of these things (in other models too)...should have been a recall.
