I have the same problems. I've replaced my plugs, sensors and the alternator twice in less than one year. The Montero blows white smoke when accelerating. Smoke can also be seen blowing out of the wheel well of the passenger side. When driving between 10-15 minutes at 4K RPMS the Montero will finally shift. I took our vehicle to O'Reillys to see which codes would be flagged and the only thing that came back was the transmission circuit. When I took our vehicle to Aamco, which is a transmission shop they were unable to figure out why the Montero was unable to shift until it was warm. They wanted to tear into the transmission in order to find the optimal cause however the cost was a bit pricey.

I just replaced a leaking transmission seal on my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero sport put transmission back. Now truck will not move! Any suggestions?

if its an automatic, go through the gears a few times, while its running and you have the E brake on,, you probably have air in the lines, go from Park all the way down to Low, and back,, feeling for the selected gears to pop in place

I have an 98 Montero sport that has a "ticking"

modern engines- rockers arms don't need to be readjusted- they have hydralic lifters- if ticking loudly- you might need to change oil- either it is starting to break down or milage is high enough on vehisle to step up one grade during warmer weather

My pajero manual transmission 4WD has a clanking noise after you have driven it for a long time. when the transmission becomes hot the clanking noise appears. but when i step on the clutch the noise...

a transmission problem when hot, but ok when cold, would suggest that the oil in the gearbox is getting too thin when it heats up.

you say that the transmission has been pulled out but do you know if the oil was actually changed in it.
if the oil has not been changed, drain it and replace with the specified oil.
if it was changed recently, then i would consider using a thicker grade transmission oil instead.

changing gearbox oil, is normally a matter of removing the drain plug on the bottom to drain the old oil, and then refilling using the level plug on the side of the engine.

Hello i have a 2002 mitsubishi montero sport when it gets hot it makes noise when i turn more when i turn right then left and only when it is hot it sound like a cv joit maybe dont know o it only makes...

It also could be the brake rotor rubbing on the caliper pads as you turn, check the brakes before changing the cvu joint if the pad are worn and don't have much meat left replace them the noise may go away.
