If you have drum brakes like my Focus sedan, It is very easy. It is a sealed unit that just slips in. You may have to coerce the old on off, but it does not take a lot of effort.

The rear bearing is a complete unit held on by a single centre nut. Remove the hub, press out the old bearing, refit the new one. This is a safety critical item and require trained knowledge and workshop tools. A new nut is required for restaking when correctly torqued up.

There are 4 bolts on the back side to remove the assembly and then you have to have a press to remove the bearings from the drum/hub assembly

How do I replace front wheel bearings on my Ford Focus?


its a hub style wheel bearing, you need a slide hammer to take the bearing off. also make sure you take the snap - ring off. there is a few different ways you can tackle this, depending on which side its on. I.E) Front or Rear.

The ABS reluctor is built into the rear wheel bearing assembly, and it must be replaced as a unit.

Fixing a 2003 ford focus front wheel bearings


remove the hub and spinle ,tie rod end ,axle nut.ball joint,and seperate from strut and then have new bearing pressed in...or rent a bearing press that works with an impact wrench,but they are a little hard to work with...good luck...lee

did they check the other wheel bearings? some time a wheel bearing noise will travel and sound some place different.
