Code 316 means the engine computer has detected a miss-fire on startup. You normally get a code for the cylinder causing the problem.
If the spark plugs are original, I would start with checking them for signs of damage or excessive wear.
It's normally located right at brake pedal arm, up toward top where it
pivots. You'll see a switch with a plunger that gets pushed in when
pedal is released. Usually pretty easy to do, but you have to stand on
your head sometimes to do it. ha-ha
