Spark plug replacement on 2001 Accord EX, 6cyl.

Do you really have to remove in the intake manifold cover?  Any idea where I could find step-by-step pics online?

got it done - it's just a plastic cover over the front 3 plugs and you remove it by turning 2 screws a quarter turn left. then use a hex wrench to remove the caps (be sure to remove the wire lead first, as it's a little tough to do once the cap is loose).  i was looking at the wrong thing because i didn't think it could be THAT easy and was prepared to pull out half the car.  thanks for the link.

I wouldn't be surprised if you do - it's a front drive car, so the engine is what's called a "transverse" engine (meaning it sits sideways in the engine bay). Thus, three plugs are on the face of the engine towards the front of the car, and three are on the "back", under where the intake manifold spans.

If you want a great resource for your car, go to www.alldata.com and register for your particular car. It's $25 per year (and additional cars are $15 each per year) but it's a tremendous resource and well worth the money.

Glad it worked out for you - there are a lot of front-drive cars that actually require the removal of the manifold to get the plugs out, so I'm glad it went easier than that for ya:)

Where are to spark plugs on a 2001 dodge stratus engine

What size engine? 4cyl or 6cyl?

If you have the 6cly, the spark plus are in the valve covers like an old hemi engine, the front three are no problem, but you have to remove the intake manifold to get the back three :-(

Hope this helps.

the spark plugs are located in the head. you must remove the upper half intake manifold first, it has three bolts 12mm. then remove the black plastic cover down the center of the valve cover, six 10mm bolts. remove the two coils and plug wires. now you have access to your spark plugs. Good Luck

Where is the best place to get step by step

(This is a 2 part answer)

If your looking to just change the spark plugs its very very simple.
- Remove The Cover under the Honda Emblem
(Should be just 4 basic nuts)
Pic: http://image.hondatuningmagazine.com/f/17468344/htup_0904_09_z+2004_honda_accord_euro_r+engine_side_view.jpg

After this you should see 4 wires.
- label them 1-4 and remember where they go.
remove them from the block, and down in each cylinder is the spark plugs. use a spark plug socket tool and a long extension and a 3/8" drive ratchet to remove and replace the plugs.

After replacing the plugs put the wires back in the designated cylinder holes and put the cover on over the wires and replace the 4 nuts you took off.

1.) start vehicle
2.) Left vehicle idle ( listen and watch motor, look for anything out of the ordinary)
3.) Turn the vehicle off and that should solve your problem.

Spark plug location in a 2001 ford escape

Need to remove upper intake manifold to reach valve cover close to firewall.
1) The location of spark plugs 456 are under the plastic shield in front of the engine. It takes an 8mm socket to remove the three bolts holding the shield once the shield is removed you will see a coil for each spark plug. Use the 8mm socket and remove the coil and rubber boots. You will now see the spark plug (note there are not any spark plug wires).
2) The location of spark plugs 123 are located to the rear of the eng. You have to remove the air intake manifold in order to get to the spark plus. Remove the throttle wire then remove the other items on top of the intake manifold.

How do i replace the spark plugs in a jaguar 2000?

THE SPARK PLUS ARE LOCATED UNDER THE VALVE COVERS, ON TOP OF THE VALVE COVERS THERE IS A SMALL PLATE COVER WITH 8 LITTLE BOLTS THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED WHICH WILL THEN SHOW YOUR COILS, UNPLUG COILS PULL COIL OUT AND SPARK PLUG WILL BE LOCATED UNDER THE COILS.
The left side is easy, just pop off the left side engine cover...remove the coils and the plugs are right there. The right side is a whole other matter completely, you need to remove the intake manifold to be to access them. It is a relatively simple job if you are even slightly mechanically inclined. Ensure you replace the upper intake manifold gaskets when you remove the intake manifold.

I keep getting a notice that the #2 and #4 cyclinder is misfiring. I went to change the plugs, but could not locate them from the top of the engine. Where are the plugs located at?

Remove the EGR valve mounts so you can slide the manifold out. Disconnet all vacuum lines from manifold and the air filter inlet closet to manifold. Just take a general look and ensure you have all wiring and tubing disconnected then slide the manifold off the eng and EGR valve. NOW MAKE SURE you cover all intake holes (leading into the engine) with paper towels to prevent droping screws etc into the engine. Then follow step 1 above
