Coolant level has nothing to do with ac operation.freon level needs to be checked. a high pressure or low pressure situation could prevent operation. condensers have been known to leak right behind ac fan

My air condition work only when I hot wire the compressor clutch. Otherwise it not engaging when I turn on the ac.

You have to insert a can of R134A refrigerant and hose on the low pressure port.
Normally it is the fatter of the two hoses coming from the compre3ssor.It should then kick in with the A/C switch engaged.
If not you may have a bad fuse, switch, compressor,or relay.

Ac clutch not engaging on a 2004 ford escape

A mechanic would check for voltage at the fuse and relay, and also check the system to see if it is full of freon. If the clutch has voltage and ground it may need to be replaced.

Ac compressor clutch will not engage on my 98 yukon.

The most common cause of no clutch engagement is a low state of refrigerant charge in the system. Have a set of AC pressure gauges hooked up and bypass the compressor cycling switch and check the pressure on the low side charging port, you show shop 28-32 PSI at idle.

Ac was running when driving to the store, stopped to gas car then on the way out turned on ac no air coming out and the ac light does not turn on. i checked the fuses all are working but no power running...

Most likely the AC compressor clutch isn't engaged. This happens when the refrigerant pressure switch doesn't detect pressure in the coolant lines. The cause is usually a refrigerant leak.

This way the AC compressor is protected from running dry and possible damage.

Let your local repairshop check AC line pressure - if no pressure, look for the leak first then refill with fresh refrigerant.

A/c has full freon but the compressor clutch wont engage. i have found that the plug going into the compressor is not getting any power. what could be the problem?

On the low pressure line of the ac you have a pressure switch which allows the compressor to come on once a certain pressure is reached, and it will cut the compressor off if the pressure is too high or too low. Look at your ac hose and find the switch *you will see wires connected to it* you may need to replace this switch. You can use a test light to see if you are getting power to the switch. You should check you fuses, and the ac relay witch is usually in a black plastic box under the hood.

The a/c compressor don' kick off it stays on all the time

Make sure you have the windshield defroster off , the cars computer turns the AC on to dehumidify the windshield as it blows in order to speed the defrosting of the inside glass.
If you have made sure the defroster is not selected on the climate control center , you may try a few other things to determine where your problem lies...
With the vehicle turned off , key out of the ignition , open the hood and unclip the small white plastic plug off of the compressor ( the electric clutch actuator plug). Start the car and see if the clutch is still engaged ...
If it is engaged , you have a locked up clutch on your compressor.

If the clutch disengages when unpluged ,turn the engine off and plug the clutch back in.
I would next determine whether or not the relay in the fuse block is malfunctioning..

The A/C system is more complicated than a switch and a power source .. When you push the button in the car to turn the AC on (or have the defroster on), a signal is sent to the PCM module , routed thru a pressure sensor on the AC coolant line (which has a 5v reference voltage) , back to the PCM where it is determined by the pressure of the coolant (freon) how fast the condensor fans will run , and a relay in the fuse block actuates , sending a 12v signal to the clutch on the compressor.

1997 pyzar 1.5 ac full of gas but ac wont work

CHECK AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SHOULD BE ENGAGED OR RUNNING WITH AC SWITCH ON POSITION.IF NOT CHECK AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH GOOD AND POWER IS GOING TO AC CLUTCH.YOUR CLUTCH IS OPEN.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD YOUR AC LOW PRESSURE SWITCH IS BAD.COMPRESSOR SEIZED OR YOU HAVE TOO MUCH MOISTURE IN AC SYSTEM.
