Question about 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

1 Answer

I have a '96 Suburban. Two months ago i started having trouble stating it. It turns over fine, but hesitates starting. When it does start, it seem to be flooding for a few seconds. Then it runs fine. On two occasions, i had to use ether to start it. I have relpaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, plugs and wires, distributor cap and button. I have also had two chevy mechs look at it. I cannot figure out what the problem is.

my 96 suburban will eventually start, but starts faster and runs like a champ after using ether. I starts just fine if I restart it within a few hours, but after it sits overnight I'm back to ether starts again. Has new fuel pump, pump regulator, intake gasket set, water pump, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, alternator & optima red top battery and still the same now for over a year.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This is gonna sound totally wrong and silly BUT i had the same year surburban and trust me - Replace your battery with a new one with at least 750 COLD CRANKING AMPS - They are about 75 bucks from autozone - but it WILL FIX YOUR PROBLEM.

too many things going on at once have you had the trouble codes read? if not do so. may help find the problems. autozone checks and clears them for free start there.

Serpentine belt squealing

Either the belt has stretched, or the tensioner is not keeping it tight.
Or it has oil on it.
