My slave cylinder on my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo went out and I need information on the procedure required to replace it ?

what you need to do is buy a replacement (new) cost is relvantly cheap. the correct brake fluid in aust it is known as dot 3 don\'t use any other even the multi dot 3/ 4 is no good for rubber seals. place a line lock on rubber part of hose so you don\'t loose the fluid from master cylinder . remove old unit by undoing the banjo bolt which carries the fluid first then the location bolts. replace new unit in reverse order bolted on then the fluid bango bolt with the washers to seal the fluid . after fully bolted back in undo the bleed nipple on the slave cyl then remove the line lock, keep the resvoir full with new clutch fluid . let the old fluid gravety feed out of complete unit , remembering to keep res full once new fluid is coming thru , tighten the bleed screw and get some one to help you bleed the unit properly . very easy job to do and quite common as the brake fluid is hydrascopic meaning it absorbs water , the water goes to the lowest point being the slave cyl. it is recommended that brake fluid and clutch fluid be replaced yearly due to the hydrascopic nature of it and it is the water that damages the seals and surfaces which then fail just as yours has . hope this helps mate

Has the 1994 honda civic lsi got a cable or hyrdraulic clutch? my pedal has no resistance and just drops when i touch it

Yes all 92-95 civics have a hydraulic clutch system. it starts at the pedal. Pedal pulls a plunger in the clutch master cylinder which is found bolted through the firewall under the hood on the drivers side. The master cylinders resivoir is bolted to the drivers side strut tower and connected to the master cylinder with a rubber hose. A line from the master cylinder runs along the firewall tirades the passenger side wheel then turns to the front of the car and is connected with a fitting to a rubber hose. The rubber hose runs to your clutch slave cylinder. The slave pushes the clutch arm. Your clutch pedal is staying on the floor because there is no back pressure to push it back up. You have air in your clutch system. First find out why (find leak or just top up clutch master cylinder with brake fluid if no leaks) then bleed your clutch. If your clutch line is rusted there is a coupler mid way in the line on the firewall. Will save you from removing the whole line maby. And there is no need to bench bleed the clutch master cylinder. My guess is your slave cylinder is leaking. It right on the front of the transmission. Pull back the rubber boot over the end of the slave cyl. and check for fluid leaks. The bleed screw is on top of the slave cyl. Find/fix leak, fill resivoir, pump clutch 10 times then HOLD. Open bleeder screw, watch for fluid and air sputtering out or just air. CLOSE valve, release clutch. REPEAT until clutch works keeping resivoir topped up. You may also open bleeder screw and pump clutch to get fluid into the system before you do the bleed process. Keep in mind brake fluid eats paint and is not very nice on your skin or in your eyes so be carefull with it. There may also be an off chance your pedal sticks because the clutch itself is badly broken but it's not really very likely.

1995 Chevrolet C1500 truck is hesitating , so we replaced the spark plugs and wires ...been 2 months and the truck is hesitating again. This time it feels like it is something different. My truck...

Need to take off the dist. cap, check for side to side play at the rotor,(dist.shaft)The top bushing goes out on these, makes the trigger wheel hit the pickup coil. If it's loose ,have to replace the distributor, bout 100 bucks.Suprising how long they will run with a bad bushing.
By the way if that's a stick shift there is a resovoir for the clutch fluid,if you add fluid be sure to take the rubber boot out of the hole before adding fluid.
,replace the boot then put cap back on.
There is a black, well silver box on that truck also.behind the glove box,GM tests them by starting the truck and lightly tapping on the computer,no kiddin, the "tap test"If there is a bad solder joint or something it will stumble while tapped, but I check the distributor first.
Hope this helps

Ford F-250 Clutch Fluid resevoir location?

There will be a little black resevoir to the right of the brake master cylinder. Its mounted to the firewall. When filling or topping off the fluid, make sure you remove the black rubber boot after the cap is removed. The resevoir itself will only hold a little fluid. Hope this helps you. Please leave response if you could. :)

How do you check a 2004 alero transmission fluid

2004 Aleros with auto trans DO NOT have a dipstick under the hood. They do have a filler cap, located on the driver side, look straight down under the edge of the exhaust crossover, black cap with a gear on it. According to the Manuf. the AUTOMATIC Transmission (should not need to be checked unless there is a leak) has a plug in the side just like the manual transmission. You remove the plug in the side and fill thru the top until fluid runs out the side hole. Replace the plug and the fill cap when done.
