Question about 2001 Ford Expedition
Its the spark plug coils. Each spark plug has a coil to fire the plug.If the coil is not giving fire to plugs, it will miss.Replace complete coil pack.
Also is the check engine light coming ON.If yes, then get the vehicle scanned and retrieve the error codes. As per the error codes, it will point out, which coil pack is causing no or low spark. So as per that you can replace that coil. Then you would go to that cylinder and pull the plug out and check out the plug. This will help.At autozone service center its absolutely free to get the vehicle scanned. You can also get it scanned at local car garage. But if there is no check engine light coming ON dash, then you will need to get the coil pack checked and replaced.Reverse each cylinder and see if it solves the problem, at the low sparking coil.
This will help locating the faulty coil pack.As per that you can replace the faulty party.Thanks.Helpmech.
