Question about Chevrolet Uplander LS

1 Answer

My uplander is a 2005 with 11,000. kilometers on it. It sits in the garage mostly. Last maintence they said the engine seal was sweating and will need replacing in the next few months. How can this be with eleven thousand kilometers, I thought I would still be in the break in period!

This sounds like a case of age more then milage.
Seals will dry and crack if they go through periods of non use.
With only 11K on it, and the vehilce being 4 years old, says that it does spend a lot of time parked.

You might be able to talk to a dealer to see if they will honor replacing it under warranty.

My opel signum does not accelerete it can not drive more than 20 kilometers speed

if you have a engine managment light on then you are in limp mode you will need to have the ecu read to find the codes, i would say its a cam sensor. as that is the most common to fail. they get a lot of heat on them from the engine as does the crank as it sit in the bottom end of the engine. but you will need a engine code reader to find the fault to be sure what sensor has failed.

Leaks between engen and gear box

Dear Monisa,
You would have mentioned the make, age of the vehicle and mileage (run kilometers) so that, can judge the problem more closer.

If it is a old vehicle,
there is chance of
worn out crank shaft seal,
Excessive play,
main bearing,
worn out gear box seal.
and problem need to be diagnosed properly after opening it.
and it is advisable be repaired in initial stage to prevent further damage and pocket friendly. (pic AA1car.com)

Need a repair shop in Kansas City Missouri to do a rear main seal on a 08 uplander

To do a rear main seal the gear box has to come out and the clutch ( if manual) or flex plate has to be removed . If the crank is flanged then the rear main bearing has to be removed to facilitate the replacement of the seal. IT is a big job and the labour costs will be large but I would say $1000.00 would be the upper limit for the job.

1996 chevrolet impala ss oil leak rear of engine

Is it engine oil or transmission fluid? Is it driven often or does it sit in the garage? If engine oil, then possibly the rear seal is leaking into the bellhousing as you drive and then draining on the floor after you stop. If ****** fluid, then possibly front seal on ****** is leaking. If car sits for long periods of time the input shaft seal can allow fluid to leak past the shaft. This usually will fix itself when driven. Can't promise it will fix itself permanently. Will not be an easy fix if either seal needs replacing (or cheap).

Purchased focus sport 2006 model no service manual. Mileage 43,000 kms. Need to know service intervals either time/mileage perhaps a copy of the service schedule will suffice.

These maintenance intervals come from the maintenance interval calculator
at www.autozone.com, using a starting point of 25,800 miles (43000 km), and
assuming 1000 miles (1666 km) driven per month, and "severe driving conditions," which
are actually normal usage characteristics, such as frequent short trips, urban driving, waiting in traffic, driving in hot weather, trips under 16 km in cold weather, etc.

I fueled my 2005 chevy uplander and now my check engine light is on, and gas gauge marks empty. I will run it and slowly the gauge will move to half and then back to empty. Check engine remains on.

I had the same problem, a friend said to check gas cap to see if seals properly, bought a new one and the problem went away something to do with the vacuum seal but I do not quite understand that

Can you explain how the gas cap can cause a service engine light to come on in a 2006 chevy uplander with a 3.5L engine.

The gas tank and emissions are under vaccum and a loose/bad seal or missing gas cap allows the vacuum to leak out when the pcm detects irregular vacuum it will turn the service engine light on.

Service Engine light came on on 2004 Eclipse. Is there a proble or is it maintence interval reminder

It's not a maintence interval reminder.

There are many emission sensors in the car that will make the engine light come ON. Best way to find out what's going on is to have an auto-parts store hook up a engine code reader and tell you what the code means. Most auto-part store will do this for free.
