My car lighter came lose and when I tried to screw it back on the piece part of it fell on the inside of the console. Is there a way for me to fix it myself without taking it to a shop.

A repair manual, which you can buy for about 5 bucks on eBay, will have instructions for removing the console. also there are many car repair videos on www.youtube.com. search for "chrysler console", they will all come out pretty much the same

How do I disassemble the center console in a 2005 Ford Expedition to get to the cigarette lighter that fell into the center console.

All of the plastic simply pulls apart, but be careful to pull straight out. The plastic attaching pieces could be brittle. BTW, the whole interior trim disassembles in this manner.
Take your time.

Retreive card fell into console

On a warm day pull two side pieces off center dash. Remove shifter handle. Pull up on middle where it says PRND You should be able to reach in. If not there are a few screws inside and the cup holder and the middle will come off

My cigarette lighter 1996 mercury grand marquis

Your thought that the end of something fell into the lighter fried something is likely true. I can't imagine that the wire could be fried and the fuse is still good. check to see if the fuse you checked was the right one. If it was and it is good, a wire on the back of the receptacle may have come lose. The end that fell into the receptacle, did it get hot or damaged? That could be a clue as to if the receptacle was shorted when the end fell into it or if not, then look for a lose connection.
