Try accelerating at different speeds, for example push pedal further down, or ease into it real slow & let it climb, and see if it still dies at 2000 rpm, just to see if pedal position makes any difference to see if maybe TP sensor has bad spot.

"when the fuel pump kicks....it makes a very short duration sound....you can hear it....but in seconds it will be gone......as gasoline has made its way to the engine.........

if you cant hear any noise from the fuel pump......it could be that the fuel pump realy is bad........if you happen to change the relay....and it still does not work.....then it is the fuel pump. that is fried.......

about the water.....i am not shure......unless there was water in the gasoline itself....or somebody put water in there in purpose....

hope this helps...

I have a Flat spot around 2000 - 2500 RPM. Does anyone else have this problem or know what it is?

like the first post ever here, that implies Im not in USA< bravo that?> what bravery.....
this is usa forum we dont have UTE's here, LOL. only SUV
that 3.2L was sold here on our Rodeo's too.
i think. if real Isuzu engine. and related.
2wd (RWD)

that engine in 2002 has EFI right,? some cars outside run carbs up to 2006, so..
i cant look in my books, as our cars are not your cars.

EFI flat shots have vast causes.
but here, are some.
  1. bad fuel.
  2. TPS bad, if the flat ends as you accelerate this can be it.
  3. if the flat spot, continues, low fuel pressure can be it.
  4. just needs a tuneup ,ever get on this decade?
  5. dirty MAF sensor if it has one. ours has no MAF,(air leaks if do will cause lean, and bogging if MAF system)
  6. clogged injectors. or leaking.
  7. scan it yet, for DTC errors. that be first.

try new spark plugs yet?//////????? gaped to spec, not guessing?

Only getting about 215klm out of a full tank of petrol

a few things you can do to help save fuel:
1: Replace spark plugs
2: Clean Replace air filter
3: Check tire preasure that they are all properly inflated to the correct working preasure.
4: Remove any unneeded heavy cargo from the vehicle.
5: If you have a fuel injected engine you could have some dirty fuel injectors that could be causing your injectors to stay open
Having them checked/cleaned or replaced can also help save you fuel.
These are only just a few solutions as there is many more adjustments you could also have done. talk with a creditable shop
and get a good tune up done, and ask them about the same things i have mentioned so they will check them all for you.

Rodeo petrol starts but wont rev

Holden Rodeo 1989 2.6mpi , start and only runs for 2 or so seconds themselves stalls, after putting on a fuel peesure gauge, fuel looked okay and slowly dropping, found the ECM relay was intermittently switching on and off, gave it a tap and the engine kept on running, relay not repairable, replace with new part. Located in the fuse and relay box on the right hand side of engine bay next to battery. Hope this helps.

Where are the spark plugs located? Also where is the loation of the fuel filter/

if this is a petrol variant then petrol filter should never need changing unless its corroded and an external fitting ,most modern vehicles have a gauze filter inside the tank anyway,Now the spark plugs are under the plastic cover on the top of the engine with a coil pack on each spark plug and the gap should be 25th but some manufacturers specify a wider gap because they use a higher voltage spark than the old classic cars from my day but 25th is not far out for 99% of vehicles

991 Isuzu 2.6l petrol runninf problem!

I realise you have probably solved this problem by now so sorry for the late news mate . Had a similar prob and it turned out to be an alternator malfunction . I replace the brushes and off she went . These things send voltage from the alt . to a fuel pump relay or whatever so the pump wont run if the eng isn't (or the alt isn't outputting any voltage.) . Hope you already had it sorted . But I hope this helps if not . Cheers Simon .
