2004 Rodeo, 103,000 miles. no oil leaks so I guess its burning oil. Oil is maybe a qt. low after 1000 since change. Engine still sounds fine but I don't know what a new engine sounds like since I bought...

if you are using a quart of oil every 1000miles,that is NORMAL FOR A MODERN ENGINE.thats why they last so much longer than the old technology.you could try 20/50 oil when you next change as that will help.but worry when it gets to pint every 350 miles.

I want to drop in a v8 motor into my holden rodeo what will be the best way to go about? and make it straight gas too?

Get the engine comp gutted out, take a sledge hammer to everything that sticks out. cut off the motor mounts, drop in the new engine and transmission with motor mounts attached, you will probably be sticking out the front about 6 inches or through the hood about 12 inches. It might fit, but It will be tight. I had a V-8 in my Toyota landcruiser, constant nightmare, Every week I was buying parts, entire front end, one piece at a time, motor mounts by the gross, oil pan, 3 clutches, exhaust system, numerous engine parts, I put over $10,000 in that truck and sold it for $300!!!! I could drop the tranny in 10 minutes. I think I would go with the V-6, The money you save will pay for a brand new motor. Hope this helps. Oh, I have 3, 94 rodeos. Putting a tranny in one right now.

Where is the oil drain plug located isuzu rodeo 2000

Hi:
I am assuming your rodeo has the V-6 engine, like the one I used to own. Your drain plug is located on the engine oil pan, along the rear side of the oil pan. this is located in the center of your rodeo, about 3 feet back from the bumper!

I have an Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 L when the engine is cold, motor sound good oil pressure is between 30 and 55 as it starts to get hotter oil pressure drops and the rocker arms start to rattle. When engine is...

The oil pressure in an engine will naturally drop off as the engine warms up. If the oil pressure is dropping too much it could be cause by several things. I don't know how many miles your engine has on it but the oil pump may be getting weak and may need to be replaced. Worn out cam bearings or crank bearings can also cause low oil pressure. Sounds like your engine may be ready for a rebuild

2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 Oil Burning and motor tapping loudly

Do a compression test on all the cylinders and see if the rocker arms are adjusted to the right. If the compression is bad then there will be no power at all and if the Rocker arms need adjustments you could be losing some power there too.
You can try cleaning out the engine from the inside out. I have done this many times when I buy a use car. I run Marvel Mystery Oil with the engine oil for about 4 months and keep an eye on the oil level. Marvel is a thinner oil and clean out the inside by removing the carbon collected and oil sludge inside the engine.
You may end up having to replace the oil pressure sensor, it seams to always be the first to go bad and may get some oil leaks. But once the engine is cleaned up you'll have a better understanding on the condition on the engine and be surprised on how well it runs after.
Just keep an eye on the oil level and change the oil and filter to free up the engine, then use the recommended oil and add Lucas oil and or Restor to help the loose of compression.
The loud tapping tells me that your not getting the oil to the top of the engine and that may be a bad oil pump but it may also be a plugged oil pump screen and the Marvel Mystery oil will clean up the oil screen.
Good luck and hope this helps, Keep me posted on your Rodeo.

Engine Knock on a 98 Isuzu Rodeo

Most likely it is a rod bearing and motor would have to be dissassembled to diagnose, you might want think about installing a low milege used replacment since it was run 5 quarts low on motor oil.
