My 2011 Ford Taurus key fob not working properly. Keep getting "key not detected message and fob does not always unlock doors. Have changed battery recently, still not working properly...

Hey Jeff it's possible that the battery in the fob is breaking contact with the battery contacts inside try squeezing the remote tightly with one hand and press the buttons with the other if it starts working you found it you must carefully bend out the contacts to make it fit tight and from opening the fob you could have made the case loose so also try putting a small piece of foam inside to make a tighter fit is this a fob with the key in it or do you have a separate fob from the key for the pats system I'll look it up and see but your post back will help also anything that's near the receiver will throw the signal off but I think it's the battery looseness that's doing it

Immobilized car

security system has locked the vehicle. it thinks it is being stolen. lock all doors , unlock drivers door with key ( not the fob) crank the car with door shut with the key.
if it doesnt work try locking doors leave car unattended for 30 min try again. if that doesnt work connect a battery charger to the battery . leave key in the run ( not start) position for 30 mins and try to start it then. if that is unsucessful tow it to dealer

Turn off alarm without key fob

Tracy:

Have you replaced the battery in the fob? After replacing the battery in the fob, the car owner's manual will tell you how to re-program the fob to the car.

My 2007 golf immobiliser will not deactivate the alarm with the key fob, i have re coded it still nothing, removed the fuse and its fine. central locking also doesnt work. all factory fitted stuff.

its a 2007 model and as such can have the key fob reset with dealer diagnostic software ,wouldnt have thought removing a fuse would de-actrivate the factory immobilisor though

Got a new radio for my 2001 impala. Now my remote control doesnt work? What do I need to do?

if you replaced it with a factory radio i think you have to reprogram the key fobs with that radio with the radio off press and hold the display button for 6 or 7 seconds untill a menu screen comes up then scroll with the left seek button untill key fob screen shows up press and hold lock and unlock on the key fob at the same time and that should do it there should be some more detailed instructions in your owners manual
good luck

1 - no key in ingnition
2 - press the unlock button in console off the car for about 10 seconds(dont let go)
3 - it should work the central doors one time and then 2 times( hear)
4 - press the remote a few times until it starts working

It worked for me hope the same for you.

Key fob lights up but doesn't work even with a new battery

I'm more familiar with Range Rovers and Saab's when it comes to key fobs but if you changed the battery you have to re-program the key fob. If you do not have an owner's manual that can take you through the steps you might want to try: push and hold the lock button on the key fob, put it in the driver's side door and turn to lock. With the button still depressed turn back to open, remove the key and release the button. If this doesn't work check any and all fuses associated with your system and last but not least you could take it to a dealer. Good luck!
