I have a 2001 chevy 2500 p/u. at times,when starting out and turning i get a slight vibration/grinding I think from the rear end.
any ideas?

-   Same problem here with my 2000 Blazer. The noise is constant from the rear and sounds like you can actually hear the rotation at low speeds. I have an appointment for 3 weeks from now but need to drive it in the mean time. Any idea how much this will run me and is this dangerous? (Worst to best case scenario) -   abrack

-   I have the same issue, just started yestrday afternoon. I hear a slight grinding noise typically when I turn or hit a bump. Comes and goes. How long before I need to attend to this? How much are parts? My thoughts are bearings need to changed.-   MrKrause

I would check the universal joints and the yoke on the rear end. If the yoke actually moves, the pinion bearings are shot.
