Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am
Its possible that the light is a change oil maintenance light and will come on when the car has traveled so many miles(kilometers)and needs to be reset.there are different ways to reset depending what system is on yours if this is what it is.if you have an owners manual it will be in it.you may have to go to the dealer to have it reset.its not hard to reset once you know the method,or check with some shops to see if this is what the light is for and to have it reset.
