Question about Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan SE front vents suddenly not working, what could have caused this? All fuses are fine, and the defroster vents still work, they will even blow out cold air, but not the main vents! Rear vents all work just fine, and blow cold air when a/c is on, but again not the front vents.

Plurbaby236, The venting system for the front of your vehicle is controlled by a vaccum line coming from the engine the rear is electric. You may have a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment. When this happens the defrosters are a default setting. Check for a small vacuum line going through the firewall, usually near the middle and follow it. You may find that it is broken. A quick repair is to take a small piece of rubber hose that fits snuggly on the plastic vacuum hose. Good luck with this.

you should have vehicle jacked up again to makesure that when it was lifted before to do those other repairs that whoever lifted it up do not put lift arms on heater tubes running under vehicle and possibly pinching them off cause poor coolant flow causing heating issues and possibly engine runability issues.

2004 grand caravan: heat but fan wont push air

Need to remove fan and test it on a bench by connecting it directly to a car battery. Removing items like this buried in the dash takes a long time, and its tricky to put back together.

The front a/c blower does not work, all fuses are good. please help

J, I am sending you some info to read but it appears that the most likely cause is the blower motor relay. Give the following notes a read and if you need some more help give me a buzz... Best of Luck..

1996 Chrysler Town & Country 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan ES 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LX 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan LE 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Dodge Caravan LE 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.3L, GAS, Vin R, Eng Cfg V6 1996 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE 3.3L, GAS, Vin R, Eng Cfg V6 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan ES 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Plymouth Voyager Rallye 3.3L Customer Concern: Front blower does not work; no power to it. Fuse is OK. Tests/Procedures: 1. At the blower motor, there is a Dark Blue wire. This wire should have battery voltage whenever the key is in the "on" position. Power for the blower motor comes from the blower relay.

2. Access the front blower relay, it is located on the driver's side under the dash, near the junction block. There will be four wires going to it. The Dark Green wire should have battery voltage all the time. The Dark Blue wire is going to the motor. The Black/Orange wire should have battery voltage with the key in the "on" position. The Black wire should be grounded at all times. On this circuit, the relay is energized whenever the key is in the "on" position. Potential Causes: Front Blower Relay
Front Blower Relay Wiring
Heater Ventilation Air Conditioner (HVAC) Control Head
Tech Tips: The front blower relay is located under the dash, on the driver's side. It may be necessary to remove the junction block (fuse and relay box) in order to see it. Diagnostic Codes: None
