The fuel injectors, if they are clogged or leaking then it can cause back fire. Also if the fuel line is got rusted, or filter is clogged then it can cause back fire.Get the throttle body cleaned and also get the iac valve cleaned. The iac valve located on throttle body.Dirty iac valve or throttle body can cause backfiring. Also one more reason for back firing is related to valve timing and spark .Work timing chain usually retards engine timing as the chain stretches.--------- Check out, this possibilities. This will point towards the fault part causing this backfiring. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Engine bucks and backfires through throttle body under acceleration

for an engine to backfire through the throttle body means that the inlet valve is still open when spark occurs . That means that the timing is too far advanced . IT may also mean that the tappet clearance is out if manual adjustment or the hydraulic followers are pumping up and holding the valves slightly open especially at revs.

2000 pontiac grand am 3.4 motor auto trans 4 door.Car starts and drives okay motor seems to stumble slightly between 3000-4000 rpms. with car stopped in park try to rev motor will only go between 3200-4000...

Hi Tom your vehicle is equipped with a Rev limiter it will not allow you to rev the engine above 4000 with the trans in park; as for the first problem you may have one of two things, one of the spark plugs or spark plug wires is bad or you have a flat spot on the throttle positioning sensor in which case have be replaced. Good luck?

Hi i have a 1995 Mazda rx-7 . when i push the gas more than 1/4 throttle it will kill the motor and like back fire .. until i let the gas off .. and go back to 1/4 throttle, it only seems to do this under...

backfiring is a sign your running out of gas. You need to check fuel pressure to confirm. This is the first step. It could be another issue but without testing components its all just a guess

2003dodge ram hemi 1500, no power, torque, or throttle response

AS far as IAC goes, you would probably experience stalling at lights, on turns , anytime engine under load like AC on at stop. TP sensor? Maybe, but is easy to check with an ohm meter. I'm sure you have checked all brakes for possibly holding on slightly. You have checked throttle pedal & linkage to make sure pedal down all the way, is opening throttle all the way? Does it feel at all like it's holding back, or just starving? Any good tranny shop that could check torque converter for proper operation in your area? One other idea would be to join free, at ( and post there, as that would be a spot where all or a lot of guys with same vehicle may be able to shed some light on it for you.

Hard start when air temp is cold, backfires when warm

Try this, remove (MAF) Mas Air Flow sensor,(be sure key is OFF) so you don't set a trouble code when disconecting wire conector, with some throttle body/air intake cleaner from the outlet side of MAF, spray the sensor clean, let dry, reassemble.Remove snorkle from throttle body, and with a old tooth brush, clean throttle body& plate with cleaner, may take a couple of cans if throttle is badly 'coked' up. Hope this helps.
