It's usually the button but could be the relay. Find the relay box under the hood and temporarily swap the horn relay for another similar one. Try the horn. If it works, buy a relay. If not, the steering column will have to be opened. Assuming you have an airbag, the horn buttons are part of the airbag. Please let me know if you would like the procedure for replacing the airbag.

You can replace the horn. Check to see if the wires connected to the horn have power. Check with a test light. If power is present then the horns are bad.

1988 ford broncho horn doesn't work ,relay clicks when horn button is pushed,I replaced the horn it still doesn't work. what should I check next.

OK, try to use a test light and connect the horn lead to ground to see if there is current, and to see if it sounds. If it does, then the wiring is fine to the horn itself. The relay may click, but are the contacts ok? Maybe swap out the relay for a new one.

Horn does not work, horn buttons are good, horn contact in steering cololm is good, battery level is good, can't find a fuse in fuse box for horn.

if you take a test light and test all the fuses in the fuse box and if they are good then when pushing on the horn button you can usually hear the horn relay working(click).if it does then you need to check the horn itself.take a wire and run it from the battery positive cable and connect it to were the horn wire connects to the horn,it should blow(make sure of a good connection),if it does then it could be a dirty connection at the horn.if it doesn`t blow then the horn needs replacing.you can also use the test light and test for power at the horn wire at the horn itself to see if the horn is being feed power from the horn button to the horn.

If you ahve checked and replaced these things then you would need to check the collar switch. this is on the steering column, behind the steering wheel.

I have a dodge caravan 2000, and the horn doesn't work. I changed the relay fuse and fuses. It still doesn't work. Please help.

REMOVE HOTWIRE HORN OR PRESS REMOTE BUTTON LOCK CAR DOORS IF YOU HEAR CAR HORN BLOWS WHEN ACTIVATE CAR ALARM. HORN WORKING.MORE LIKELY THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD NEED REPLACING.IF YOU GOING TO FIX. DISABLE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE REPLACING THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD. TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING AIRBAG IN STEERING WHEEL.THAT HORN PAD WITH AIRBAG IS NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP.

The horn won't work checked fuse and it was okay, where is the horn located at?

Most likely you will need to replace the horn relay located in or near the main fuse box or under the hood in the high amp fuse box. If you have the owner's manual it will show the fuse box diagrams.

Hello, my horn stopped working we took all of the fuses out even the relay under the hood everything appears to be fine. can you help me solve this problem i need my horn thanks.

Hi, sounds as if maybe it's the horn itself thats given up, Try removing the terminals from the horn ( easier if the horn is taken off ) and connect direct to a battery, if it has 2 terminals one is feed and the other earth, if it only has 1 terminal use the body of the horn as earth ( - ) and the terminal as a feed ( + ) if no sound, it's the horn, if it works, then connect and test lamp or volt meter to the terminals removed fromt the horn, press horn button and see if you have a reading on the volt meter or he light operates if using a bulb holder. Cheers

Car horn won't work i changed the fuse and relay and it still doesn,t work

In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to disarm the airbag system can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury disconnect the battery 30 minutes prior to start of work.

Car Horn

Try using a 12volt jumper wire directly to the horn from the car battery. also check the ground on the horn. The last thing I would do is pull the steering wheel cover. Make sure the horn is blowing first.
