2004 dodge neon p0344 code.

code p0344efers to cam shaft position (CMP) A bank 1---circuit intermittent==causes ---wiring---poor connection CMP sensor ---ECM
The cam sensor has to be adjusted to get the right air gap for the sensor. Check the wires to the sensor for condition and check the connection to the sensor as the pins may be dirty or wet.
you cannot adjust the timing belt to prevent missing because if you could there would be a massive dollar repair bill from engine damage.
missing can be from other sources such as faulty injectors and low fuel pressure so have the fuel pressure checked and have the injectors removed and cleaned.

How to time the timimg belt for a 1995 labaron v6 conv put a new water pump in need to set the timimg belt how do i line it up

get the #1 piston top dead center, then line up the camshaft gear and the crank gear to line up with the timing marks on the engine after you find those marks slip the belt on making sure all the timing marks havent changed then check to see if the tensioner for the belt is set with the proper tension then check to see if the belt isnt slipping remember it will be spinnig at high RPMS

Symtoms of a bad timimg chain/belt...but ran real

Problem is not solved but I did change the fuel filter, coil pack,ICM and have proper fuel pressure to the motor. Car starts but dies right away. I cant seem to find out if the fob on the key ring has something to do with stopping the motor. This fob says Radio Key by Secure Key with a number 35077 stamped on this thing.. Still trying to find out what this is and does it effect the cars ability to run

Getting the motor in time after changing the belt

What you do is line up the lower mark. Go to the upper sprocket and move the sprocket 1 tooth back(counter clockwise). After the belt is on, Rotate ONLY the upper sprocket to take up the slack in the long side of the belt being careful of not moving the lower sprocket. The upper spocket should now be exactly where it should be. Release the tensioner and I like to use a big screw driver or something to "preload" the tensioner before fully tightening it. The belt should have really good tension. The rule of thumb is the long side of the belt should not be able to twist 90 degrees to the engine. If it's more that that, ou need to tension it up tighter.
