Will not start.

I changed the battery and serpentine belt, and now the car will not turn over. The lights work, except dash lights. Help I need to get to work.

I just had a new serpentine belt and pullers installed when I went to start the car all of the dash warning lights came on , can you help?

It is normal for all warning lights to come on when the key is turned to the on position but before the starter is engaged. This lets you know they are all working. I assume you are talking about after you start the engine. If so, check the routing of the serpentine belt. There is usually a diagram of it under the hood. If the alternator is not turning correctly you will likely get some warning lights on.

WHAT IS THE LIKELY CAUSED OF A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR SERPENTINE DRIVE BELT SYSTEM ? IS IT THE ALTERNATOR OR SERPENTINE BELT?

serpentine belt is getting old and hard and the cold weather was causing it to slip
check belt condition ( small cracks across the grooves = scrap and get a new one) and check tension

New battery drains.

I can't imagine how changing the belt would have any effect on the electrical system if the alternator is working.
The way you check for a drain is to disconnect the battery ground cable and use a test light to make the connection between the battery and ground. If there is something drawing power from the battery the light will glow.
Then you pull each fuse from the fuse boxes until the light goes out. You also disconnect the starter and alternator if necessary.

2006 jeep liberty battery light came on and steering is very hard to turn..

Did you check to see if the serpentine belt is tight or missing? The battery light comes on to tell ou there is a problem with the charging system. It does not come on when the battery is bad. Since the alternator and the power steeringpu p are run Blythe same belt it would make sense to check the belt to make sure it is there and tight and capable of turning these accessories.

2001 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L engine On start up tha belt makes noise but the battery light is off. As it runs for a few minutes the battery light goes on. Then if I turn it off and start it up again the...

have the alternator checked at auto zone. If you have not replaced your serpentine belt check for wear. Small cracks across the lenght of the belt are normal but if you are missing pieces of the inside grooves, your belt needs changing. If you have never changed the belt, it could be a good investment.

Strange starting issues or lack there of.

You nailed the problem in the second sentence. Likely the belt tensioner is failing, causing the belt to become loose and slip. That in turn allowed your alternator to slip instead of charging your battery. While you drove, you were running on battery only. There is enough power in there to drive for sometimes over an hour. When you went to re-start, there was insufficient power to operate starter (which needs more juice to turn than anything else in the car) This lowered battery voltage further, tripping the security system. You will need a new serpentine belt, idler pulley and battery charge, then re-activate security system. Never worry about giving too many details...far better than some posts I read that would have said something like "my car. click why" And fifteen questions later I sometimes get close to the answers you provided...nice to see someone out there that's literate!!!
good luck with it!

My lights started going dim on the dash. the voltage kight started comeing on and then the warning sign came on check chargeing system

You need a new alternator. Also check to be sure that your serpentine belt didnt break. The car was not charging the battery (either the belt broke or the alternator is bad) and running entirely off the battery causing the lights to dim and the voltage light and check charging system lights to come on. Good luck to you. Thanks for using fixya!

Sincerely,

JC
