Question about Ford Excursion
Hello, This is the lean Code for both banks of the engine. Check your intake manifold gaskets for leaks using either a water spray bottle or an approved Choke cleaner safe for plastics and rubber. If this is a 6 cylinder engine, some had a 2 piece Intake manifold that had a gasket sandwiched between the top and bottom parts. The sandwiched gasket is notorious for dissolving and leaking.
Have the motor running and spray around the seams on the Intake manifold to find the leak. The engine RPM will change one way or the other when it draws in the spray. If you are lucky, a bolt may be loose or some gasket making material may stop the leak from the outside. Otherwise new gaskets will need to be installed.
Check for loose Vacuum hoses that may fall off, and spray around a big rubber hose that goes to the brake booster. On some cars, the hose would expand on the brake booster line and it would leak air into the engine.
When using a site like this, please include the Year, Model, a number of cylinders in the motor. There are Websites for recalls that we can look up for you and tell you about. I hope my information is very helpful to get you fixed up and that what I could provide was enough to solve your problem.
