unbolt the headlight (4 bolts on top, one of then is a tightening bolt,
a long skinny bolt, try loosening that one, you can tell which one it
is 'cuz there is no bracket on it.). Remove it then go in from the side
you should be able to just reach the bulb socket, I think it twists
out,you should be able to twist it with your fingers.
all you have to do is pull at this point. sometimes they get a little "stuck" in there so move up and down until the bulb comes loose. be sure not to touch the new bulb with bare fingers. if you can, get latex gloves to do this. simply install the new one reversing all the steps you already told me. cheers
If you have just one side marker light out, it's probably a burnt bulb, those side lights are wired in with the parking and head lights, so when either the parking lights or head lights are turned on, the side lights come on also.
As far as the radio, the small bulb in there for the other half is probably blown.
This is for the 95-97 Contour. 98+ are different, because the light housing changed completely. 1. Open the hood. 2. In each front corner of the hood, there is a torx bolt, head about the size of a nickel. Removing this one bolt allows you to remove the corner marker/turn signal housing. 3. Once the housing is free, you have access to the back of the bulb holder. If I recall correctly, it's a half-twist to remove, but I'm not sure. Could just be barbed clips, or something. Anyway, from here should be no problem to figure out how to remove and replace the bulb. 4. Replace corner marker/turn signal housing, and re-install torx bolt. That's it!
Thank you for sharing the information on the light bulb. You just saved me money from having to take my 2003 Trailblazer in to have the low beam bulb replaced. I did exactly what you said.
1 Open hood and lock.
2. Take filter cover off (4 screws and they stay with the filter).
3. 3 inch cover pulls off.
4. Twist light bulb 1/8 turn.
5. Unclip the wiring harness to light bulb assembly.
6. Test by turning light switch on.
7. Align assembly with light housing and turn 1/8 until it snaps in.
8. Put 3 inch cover back on.
9. Place filter cover back on and hand tight the 4 screws.
10. Close hood.
Tail light replacement is not as hard as it seems.
Tools needed:flat head screwdriver and a deep 5/32 socket(a pair of pliers will work).
Step 1: open trunk and pull back truck liner at tail light. There is a small button clip on liner.Use screwdriver to pop up the center of button clip, pull clip out of hole.
Step 2:You will see a black wire attached to the body of car with 2 white clips.Use screwdriver to pop clips off of studs.
Step 3:Remove the nuts from the studs and pull tail light assembly straight back away from car.The outer side of the light just snaps in and out of place.
Step 4:Turn light socket counter clockwise 1/3 turn and pull out.
Step 5:Pull bad bulb straight out and replace.Reverse steps to reassemble.
