We need to know the year, make and model of the vehicle that you are trying to do this conversion on. Not every PS system is the same.

Ok i see. Well it turns out i have the same PS system on my toyota pickup. Tomorrow when it is daylight i will go take pictures of the system for you to have a look at.

  • Anonymous Apr 11, 2011

Hey so I found a good light source. Here is the picture of the PS vacuum hoses on my truck. I circled the start of the hoses on the PS pump on the lower right and the end on the intake manifold on the left. One hose is highlighted green and the other blue. With this picture you will have no problem finishing your setup. Have fun!

Also I am sorry about the delay on responding back to you. A good friend of mine is dying so I was helping him out with chores around his house today.

I had to resize the pic. I hope you can see what you need.

The adjustment valve and the nipple 3 inches to the front of it. I forgot to mention that if your truck didnt have the ps pump to begin with you may have to get a new intake plenum that is made with the nipple and the valve. If you cant find it on your truck you have the wrong intake.

How do you add power steering pump to 95 toyota tercel

Do you need to replace an existing pump or is your car currently manual steering? If it is manual steering there will be more than just adding a pump. The actual steering rack is most likely different from a power steering unit so there would be multiple components required to convert. If your pump is faulty, you just need to disconnect the lines, remove the belt then remove the pump and install the new one. While you are doing that I would flush the old fluid out of the rack to increase life span of steering rack.

How to change 97 hyundi exel manual steering to power steering

Not economical to do this. But you need a whole new front end and the power steering pump and the brackets. Given the age of the vehicle, it may be impossible to locate OEM parts. Aftermarket is 175 to 250 for the rack and pinion, 20 for the mounts for it, 200 for hoses and tubing, 150 for the pump

2001 chevy tahoe vacum hoeses for power steering

Hello! There are power steering fluid in/out hoses but no vacuum lines...It sounds as if the pump needs to be bled of air or the belt is loose...Belt should move about 1/2 to 3/4"...Bleeding is as follows...
Guru...saailer

ImportantPower steering fluid level must be maintained throughout bleed procedure.
  1. Fill pump reservoir with fluid to minimum system level, FULL COLD level, or middle of hash mark on cap stick fluid level indicator.
  2. ImportantWith hydro-boost only, the oil level will appear falsely high if the hydro-boost accumulator is not fully charged. Do not apply the brake pedal with the engine OFF. This will discharge the hydro-boost accumulator.
  3. If equipped with hydro-boost, fully charge the hydro-boost accumulator using the following procedure:
  4. 2.1. Start the engine.2.2. Firmly apply the brake pedal 10-15 times.2.3. Turn the engine OFF.
  5. Raise the vehicle until the front wheels are off the ground. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Key on engine OFF, turn the steering wheel from stop to stop 12 times.
  7. Vehicles equipped with hydro-boost systems or longer length power steering hoses may require turns up to 15 to 20 stop to stops.
  8. Verify power steering fluid level per operating specification. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  9. Start the engine. Rotate steering wheel from left to right. Check for sign of cavitation or fluid aeration (pump noise/whining).
  10. Verify the fluid level. Repeat the bleed procedure if necessary.

the power steering pump also is connected to the brake booster and both take vaccum this is a verry common problem and sucks, the only way to fix this is to get a new power steering pump, just to have it happen again in a few years.

Steering and brake power assist dont seem to be working - checked fuses and fluid level - ok - what next?

Your power streering works with a hydaulic pump driven by the engine belt, check the belt and pump.
Your power brakes works using engine vacuum, check for vaccum leaks from tubes that come form the engine intake plenum.
