Question about 2001 Audi TT

1 Answer

2001 audi tt I left the lights on and ran the battery dead. Jump started the car and carged the battery. Now the roof will not go down and the int lights will not turn on using the button. there is a red light on in between the Lock and Unlock buttons on the center consol by the e-brake. Is there a reset sequence? Thanks Rich G.

hi Richgad27, I am having the same problem with my 2001 TT. Would like to ask you if you have found a solution for the problem. My baterry also died and after jumpstarting it the roof does not go down, the int lights do not work, the e-brake light stays on, the trunk and gas doors do not open, and the windows do not work. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Several ways, press and hold the unlock button for 30 secs,,OR,put key in door unlock/hold key over(windows go down)then lock/hold key over(windows go up)then press unlock button, all should now be fine,to be sure its set try starting the car first, run for a couple of mins then set radio code, etc

Lots of rain, lots of things not working now

Is it a convertible? Mine has the same problem and the electronic control panel is located in under the rear window. I think moisture accumulates and short circuits the control panel. I am not a machanic but when it dries out it is fine.

Jumped started Audi 2001 TT, due to dead battery, now radio dead

You will need to enter the anti theft radio lock code. I would check the manual for the operation. On my VW it was on a sticker in the truck. Also check with an Audi dealer for exact location.

My Audi TT won't start and on the dashboard it just displays "fuse". Jump starting did not work

Did you manage to sort this out in the end? My TT is just doing that at the moment!

Lights left on, battery totally flat, will not

You've probably flooded it then - TOO much gas in the engine.
Try this charge the battery or use a GOOD one, and beofre yout turn the key push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there. Then try and start without lifting your foot. Crank for 20-30 seconds at most.
Do that about 2-3 times, then try to start normally.
Holding your foot stops more gas from entering the engine and allows the gas in there to be cleared out.
Flooding is way easy and then can make starting very hard. You have to be aware of this when trying to jump start a dead battery.

Have a 2001 Audi TT quattro turbo. Ran fine and had a check engine light on i thought is was from a low quality fuel that i had in it. So i decided to just disconnect the negative battery cable for a while...

disconnecting the battery in a 2001 does nothing for the light reset.. that only works on 95 and older units.....sounds as though you triggered the security system....you can try to shut all doors and with key lock and unlock then lock and unlock the drivers doors attempting to reset the alarm... if no good stick key in ignition and turn to the run position let stand for 10 minutes. then turn key off. exit car unlock and lock door again then try to start if no good let me know
