How do I get the rear wiper arm off of my 05 malibu maxx rear window ?

the rear wiper arm is attached with a single nut in the center,
1.) pry the cap off that is covering the nut. It pivots toward the
blade.
2.) Remove the nut holding the blade assembly.

3.) lift the arm back and forth to get it off the shaft

I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP and my windshield wipers won't work

The wiper arms are a "friction fit" on the wiper linkage studs.
Remove the cap from the end of each wiper arm, remove the retaining nut, carefully pry the wiper arm off of the stud. Clean out the inside of the arm hole and also clean up the stud. Position the arm back in to proper place on the wiper arm "park" stands and the linkage stud. Put the nut back on the stud and tighten down.
This should solve your problem.

Broken wiper arm on 1997 Chev Malibu

the best option is a small puller, but you probably dont have one so...put the nut back on, run it down on the threads just enough for the nut to be all the way on, but no thread protruding from it. Now lightly pry on the bottom of the arm while tapping on the nut with a hammer, the shock should loosen the tapered connection and pop off the arm.

Malibu wipers problems

I suspect a retainer came loose from the arm to the wiper transmission, you will need to get at the wiper transmission and reattach the art to the pivot.
