2002 ford focus rear tire wear

ABNORMAL REAR TYRE WEAR Ford Focus 2000-2004

"Ford Motor Company told dealers that they may need to replace the rear upper control arms on Ford Focus models. The models include: 2000 through 2004 Focus Sedan, Wagon, ZX3 and ZX5 series.

According to Ford, consumers have been experiencing more than normal wear to the inside of the rear tire(s). Should owners experience such a condition, then they should bring their vehicle in to a Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealership for a possible adjustment. Ford will check the rear camber and, if possible, make an adjustment. If an adjustment to the vehicle's rear camber is necessary beyond the negative end of specification, then the dealership will need to source replacement rear upper control arm(s)."

The Ford Motor Company parts service kit required for this replacement is 3S4Z-1A154-AA. Ford will perform the replacement of parts under provisions of the bumper to bumper warranty under Technical Service Bulletin T31305.

This is considered a "silent recall" where upon Ford may NOT notify owners of this condition. " ( From 2003........)

This no doubt is the likely problem with your car or it could just be in need of a wheel alignment. In any event the previous owner(s) may never had put the car in for the rear suspension modification.
If the fix was undertaken, Ford will have a record of it under your Vehicle Identification Number(VIN).

As the car is out of warranty and given the age(2002 model) I expect you will have to pay for the fix if the problem is the suspension components and not simply the car being in need of a wheel alignment which routinely needs to be done every 12000 miles or so in any event.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,I have a Ford focus 2004 tdci 1.8 and the immobiliser intermittently won't turn off,I've tried both keys and its still won't start.kind regards Dean

Ford products are sensitive to changes in Battery voltage. The system views low Voltage as an attempted theft and makes the Alarm go off.

Remove the Battery, return it with a full charge or new Battery. Some other symptoms would be slow cranking or clicking like a dead battery. The Antitheft reduces starter Voltage to around 7 Volts making starting nearly impossible.

Please rate my info. If all else fails, the Identity in the car memory may no longer match the identity on the car keys. You would need to have a Dealer rematch the keys to the car.

I have a 2004 Ford Focus Z-Tec engine. I just replaced the alternator twice in one week, had Ford updates, and a new the battery. It will not hold a charge. I am told now it might be a wiring problem. It...

I have similar problem, I repaired the alternator using a voltage regulator and brushholder (new) taken from a new alternator for a Ford Fiesta (I think) when I refitted it the charging light still stayed on. I cleaned the multiplug where it goes through the bulkhead to the PCU and the charge light now goes out but the headlights now flicker and it seems that the voltage is varying or 'pulsing'. I do not know where the fault is now and am looking at an expensive visit to a Main Dealer.Any suggestions or help appreciated

I have a 2004 ford focus that has a chip in the ignition key. the key cylinder on the column is bad and needs to be replaced. it can be bought at local parts store but can i program it or does the dealer...

The new ignition key cylinder will only need programming if it comes assembled with a key. If the cylinder comes in a kit (type that ford dealer sells) that lets you build the cylinder to match your key, then no programming is needed.
I hope this helps you
