Why does my 1998 gmc jimmy rpm drop so low when its warm causing a miss in the engine

The truck ECM computer controls the idle speed based on a number of engine parameters. Idle drops to a minimum preset level when engine coolant reaches normal operating range and the engine goes into closed loop control. This idle is typically set at around 575 rpm, and cannot be changed without reprogramming the ECM. The miss is not caused by the idle speed - unless the engine is tuned properly and has not lost compression, this idle speed can result in a rough running engine at idle (typical with older 4.3L Vortec engines). Best bet is to get a complete tuneup which will include checking the O2 sensors, catalytic converter and cleaning the IAC valve and throttle body.

1983 s10 blazer low rough idle and trys to die when starting have to give it a little gas and put it into drive real quick then when slowing down keep foot on gas pedal as i also slow down with break pedal

Could be several things, a vac leak, dirty throttle body, or faulty idle air control valve.
The computer controls idle speed by how much air enters the throttle body thru the valve.
Usually a vac leak would speed up the engine unless it is causing the rough idle.

Durango starts only when gas pedal is pressed down

Chances are it could be over fueling with an injector stuck open or a vacuum leak from the intake manifold gaskets more than likely

When i rave my ford mondeo 1998 seems like there is no power. Everything else works. This happens when im on the road when i start the car at home like warming it, it seems like its got power, its just...

I would try and check for intake manifold leaks. Do this by getting a can of carburetorcleaner and when the car is idling spray thecleaner around thebase of the carburetor and around theintakemanifold. If the idle picks up in speed there is a vacuum leak. You will need to trace it down by spraying the fluid and see where to look for it when the idle revs up. If anyone has been piddling around under your hood lately they may have inadvertainly knocked a vacuum hose loose. Check all thehose connections.
The bottom line is it may be theintakemaniflod gasket and that will be no fun to replace if you do it yourself and expensive if some auto mechanic does it.
This isjust aguessandif you do decide to spend money you should have it puton thecomputer dialisis machine first and locate the sorce of your problem.
Unless you have a very trusted mechanic you goto it is best to get two opinions as wellwith two different tesrt. These guys like to sell stuff you dont need.

When i try to accelerate from a stop or from any speed my jimmy

Try replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor, it is in line from the air filter box to the carb. Could have come unplugged or gone bad. They are not made to be cleaned or touched inside (that usually leads to damaging it). Good luck.

sounds like you are suffering from low fuel pressure, with a proper gauge you can check to be certian that you have addaquit pressure. at idle you should have 14-18 psi.

My 1989 gmc half ton truck will die out when truck rpm or idle drops down.

happens mostly in reverse at very low speed. change spark plugs to an ngk, increese gap by 0.01 and advance distributer about 1 or 2 digrees to increase idle from around 800 to 850 or 900.

Envoy 2004 idle speed

Hi
your problem seems very easy :) hope this one work with your envoy. Just buy AC DELCO carburetor tune-up conditioner.

How you use it: engine running , AC off please

1. detached the big black airflow hose which is attached in the mannifold of the engine block.

2. ask your friend to step on the gas pedal and set the rpm steady in 2000 rpm only.

3. then spray vigorously in 8 seconds the inside circle opening of mannifold while your friend steady step on gas pedal with steady 2000 RPM only.

4. after you spray, let your freind continue on gas pedal with 2000 rpm for 15 more seconds.

5. attached back the airflow big black hose to the manifold and you are ready to roll with your AC on.

if this one doesnt work, please scan your envoy by scanner called TECH II. and find out.
