Question about 2002 Pontiac Firebird
I got a lot of information about this security stuff from this website. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/ When mine started acting up, i did a bypass on it. It was alot cheaper than a dealer mechanic. If you are looking to fix it correctly, I think taking it to the dealer is the best way to go, like said in above post.... Good luck

TAKE CAR TO DEALERSHIP.GET CAR CODE SCAN. LOOK FOR THEFT SECURITY FAULT CODES.ANY TIME THEFT SECURITY LIGHT TURN ON YOU HAVE FAULT IN IGNITION KEY, COULD BE WORN OUT,YOU HAVE FAULT IN IMMOBILIZER READ COIL.FAULT IN BCM.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX AND REPROGRAM THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.
