New spark plugs new wires old distributor timing changed wen nee plugs were put on, clockwise or counterclockwise, don't know, besides the battery what firing order V8 305?

I don't know your year--make--model? You should be able to remove dist cap, crank the engine, watch which way the rotor turns, then you know the direction of rotation. Most chevy rwd v8, firing order, 18436572. The driver side bank is odd numbered, 1357.
The passenger side bank is even numbered, 2468 from front to back. Put your number one piston on tdc of compression stroke. Then whichever spark plug tower the rotor is leading into, should be number one, then you follow the firing order around the cap.

How to Connect sparplug wires in the correct fireing order?

The firing order is 1342 Number 1 should be marked on the distributor cap . start from there , notice the direction the rotor turns, next terminal on the caps goes to number 3 cylinder and so on. to find number one if the cap is not marked do the following. remove number 1 spark plug and turn engine over till compression is felt, line up the timing marks on the crank pulley and timing cover. remove the dist. cap the rotor is now pointing to number 1 position on the cap.

Firing order

Those numbers on the cap identify which cylinder is connected to which plug wire and in some cases its also the firing order. Usually the firing order is stamped into the top of the intake manifold someplace. You also need to know which direction the rotor is turning in to make sure you get the correct order. Leave the cap off and bump the started to see which direction the rotor turns in and you can work out the firing order from that.

I'm having trouble getting the correct firing order for my 1995 vs Statesman any help would be appreciated

Any v8 308 holden motor has the same firing order so any manual will give you the order and the direction that the rotor button spins. It is 12784563 with 1357 being on the drivers side and the distributor turning clockwise. If you have a 253 v8 type in firing order for holden 253 v8 in google search and you will get even more information. If you have the original inlet manifold the piston order is stamped in the casting

I need to know firing order for 1982 chevy van 305 v-8? was told order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 clockwise order but not sure where to begin order

put a socket on the nut for the crankshaft dampener and rotate the crank until you get to top dead center of #1 cylinder-remove the cap, the rotor is pointed to where #1 is located. you can have someone bump the starter with the key (disconnect the power feed wire to the distributor if you do this)

Engine misfiring.

most all v8's have the same firing order which is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. sparkplug gap seems fine. with the engine off, bend the sparkplug wires between your fingers, if small cracks appear then replace them. number one sparkplug is located at the front driver side of the engine, front to back on this side are cylinders 2,4,6, and 8 respectively. turn the engine to the compression stroke on number one, pull the cap, the rotor points where number one will be.

make sure that its on top dead center and drop the distributor so that the rotor is pointing towards the number one cylinder (sitting in the car left front) put your distributor cap on so the number one plug wire is above where the rotor is firing order is18436572 clock wise and it will fire
