Question about Ford Ranger

I have a 1991 ford ranger. that when im drivin an sometimes sittin still the motor seems like something is holdin it back then it releases an picks up speed while black smoke is comin out of the exhaust. i have changed the fuel,oil,an air filter. im an the exhuast has a hole in it after the cat.

Starts and runs for a while then will not start. come back later and starts

try unplugging the mass air flow sensor when it dies. if its not that, plug the mas back in and unplug the manifold absolute pressure sensor. see if that helps. it sounds like something is doing it when the motor warms up.

How do you remove the ignition switch from a 1991 ford ranger? there is no hole to a release keeper button. diagram please

u must remove the sterering wheel and then the ignition key cylinder lock pin to pull the switch out

1991 ford F150 pick-up truck will not go forward or backwards but will start

did you just get the vehicle? was it sitting in some wet weather? could be the break pads and shoes have "frozen" to the rotors or drums. does it seems like it wants to move but when you press the accelerator it wont?

Throw out bearing

Go to your friendly automotive parts store and pick up a "Chiltons" or "Motors" Manual for the year Ford Ranger that you have. In it you will find step by step directions on how to do so plus you'll have a good reference source for future repairs.

idle air control is ran by the power of motor cause the compressor is attached to motor for the compressor you need an idle air control module for a/c compressor this should bring life back to your a/c
