Relay for ac not working cluchfan will not come on unless i unplug the relay and jump with a wire but it continucly runs

Relays are $5. Your compressor will not run if you are low on coolant. Swap the relay for a new one.

How to trouble shoot air condition compresuer

You really want to troubleshoot your AC. Here are some items to follow:
1- Make sure your Compressor clutch work first. You can jump the wire to test it when the engine is off.
When you know the clutch work then you can look for the other things not makeing it activated.
2- It it doesn't work then you know the problem right there.
3- If it works then check the Low and high pressure according to compressor spec.
3- Check your engine temperature sensor. Don't think that your temp reading gauge is coorect then your engine temperature for your AC is working.
4- Check your compressor sensor speed. It has to be in sych with your crankshaft sensor before it allows the clutch engaged to prevent burning your compressor when it is locked up is in freezing mode ( case some clever people jumping wire to control the clutch bypassing all other rerquirement).
5- If you think these items need to be addressed by professional better then do-it yourself then I have no objection. Good luck on trying.

AC not blowing cold 1996 Lincoln Town Car Presidential

i would try its a nationwide junk yard inventory site theres some great deals there for domestic cars.try to replace the wire conectors at the compressor maybe the freon shorted them out.

No cooling just hot air

first off is the clutch on the ac compressor engaging when you turn on the unit...If it is not make sure it is getting juice by using a test light or meter...Assuming it is all fine to that point locate the low freon switch and unplug the connector off of it and take a piece of wire and jump it across the contacts inside the connector plug, if this causes the compressor to engage then it is either low or out of freon. Now you need to determine if it has a leak or you can do what the rest of the world does and just add freon and hope that it last for a while. They do make a sealant for it also. More than likely the evaporator has a leak but hopefully not...just remember to jump out the low freon connector or it won't **** in the new freon...
