Every time it starts raining truck starts missing and cutting out it's a 97 f 150 ford 4.6 motor.

Possibly a plug wire or cracked distributor cap. I'd take a spray bottle and while it's running (be careful not to get your body parts in danger of the fan) spray some water on the cap area. If everything seems fine, you could spray down each plug wire at a time. See if you find the culprit that way. For a vehicle so old, if you haven't done a tune up lately. It's probably a good time. Replace the distributor cap and rotor. Plugs and wires.

My 1984 F-150, inline six, is missing badly. I thought I might have mixed up the wire sequence. I checked the order in the manual and the sequence was different than on my engine. When I switched the...

find your firing order, it may be something like 153624
take the dizzy cap off and rotate the motor to see what direction the rotor turns(it should be clockwise)
now remove the number 1 spark plug and bring the piston up to top dead centre on the compression stroke, to do this put your thumb or finger over the plug hole and rotate the motor by hand, when you feel pressure on your finger the motor is pushing the piston up in that cylinder, if you poke a screwdriver down in the hole you will feel the piston coming up. when it reaches the top and the screwdriver is not coming up any more the piston should be on top dead centre.
have a look at the rotor to see where the brass pointer is poing to on the distributor body, mark the side of the distributor housing and sit the cap on to see which plug lead lines up with that point, that will be number one piston firing position.
if the rotor was turning clock wise the number 5 plug lead would go to that terminal, if the firing order is the same as the one that I have told you then continue on until you have the 6 leads in the right order.
usually the pistons run from front to back like 123456
for an inline 6 cylinder
hope this has helped

Changed plug wires and found a black copper wire just sitting by its self near the distrbutor it has a connector cant find where it goes or what it was connected to i also fired up the motor and it sounds...

It may plug into the distributor cap, by where the red wire with the white connector goes, or it could be a ground strap, from the body to the back of the engine.

I just changed my ford laser car 1988 model starter motor

plug the lug wire (Bullet connector into the starter (Bullet connector) from relay and you should be set. the square thing is the starter relay and wehn you turn the key to start mode it powers the relay that then starts the motor. this is a safety feature so the starter don't get stuck trying to start the car all the time. If you need help post to this replay and if helpful please rate this answer.

Can not remove lug nut caps 2003 x -type jaguar

I have an 04 xj8. the lug nuts are a good bad example of half baked engineering. the lug nuts are fabricated from ugly steel with an 11/16 hex end. to beautify this, Jaguar overlays the nut end with a stainless steel 3/4 inch cap, crimped to the nut. On top of this, the nut is to be torqued to 90+ ft-lb! The only way to remove the lug nut without damage is with a SIX POINT socket and a breaker bar or an impact wrench. Using a 12 point socket will deform the cap, causing the wrench to spin on the cap and or the cap to spin on the nut itself. If that has happened, it is possible to recover using a 15 oz or thereabouts ball peen hammer and a deep 3/4 inch impact socket (the black ones). Line up the socket to the cap, doing a best guess to where the flats are and give the socket a light blow. Keep trying that until the socket seems to stick on, then hit it harder. Eventually you will find the right point and the socket will go on and reform the cap. Then a breaker bar can remove the cap/nut. New assemblies can be had for about $6 from "partsbin" or "autohausaz".

Distrbutor to spark plug wiring

Hey there janandshane,

I've got a 91 Wrangler, lots of fun. Here's your info.

Viewed from above, front of vehicle on the right side, cylinder locations are:
6 5 4 3 2 1 for a six cylinder and 4 3 2 1 for a four Cylinder

The firing order is:
1 5 3 6 2 4 for the six and 1 3 4 2 for the four.

The distributor rotation is clockwise.

To find Top dead center (for wire to cylinder #1 on distributor), look for and line up the timing marks on the crankshaft (front of the engine).

Or, pull the #1 spark plug, stuff the hole with a cork or a rag. Slowly crank the engine until the cork pops out.

Pull the distributor off. The rotor is pointing where the plug for cylinder #1 should go. The rest of the wires go in the firing order clockwise.

That about covers it.

Remember: Good things come to those who rate. How about a nice FixYa?

Sounds like you have some wires crossed. The parts houses have illustration showing the proper locations on the cap.
