Usually when you start the car the fans will not turn on. They are controlled by a sensor, that when the coolant reaches a certain temp. they will turn on. You need to check the cooling fan relays and fuses. If they are all good, then you might need to replace the heat sensor.

Ok when I have my heat fan on my 2006 dodge charger 2.17 it dont run hot but when I turn it off it do our when I turn on the ac it run hot

If the engine is running hot you may be low on coolant. Check this first. If coolant level ok, the rad fan may not be working to cool the engine. If the AC is operational, when you turn it on, the radiator fan should come on telling you the fan motor is ok. You still may have an issue with a fan control related to temperature. This can be caused by a fan relay/wiring/temp sensor/ecm. Make sure the thermostat is functioning properly as well

When you turn the A/C on does the elect. fan suppose to come on evenin cold weather and whitch temp. switch runs it?

Normally the ac fan (in front of the condenser) will run as soon as the ac is switched on. This condenser gets hot when the gas is being compressed and needs to have the heat removed for the system to work IT will switch on regardless of the ambient temperature as it is connected directly to the ac compressor clutch. IF you are referring to the heater fan inside then it will only work with the heater fan on or with both ac and heater on but will not always work with just the ac on.

Engine cooling fan only works when ac or defrost is on

if engine at long stand still, the engine temperature will rise about 190 degrees the cooling fan suppose to automaticaly turn on when coolant temperature sensor get hot it cause its resistance decrease causing pcm to send power to coolant fan relays and cooling fans, when you turn on AC the cooling fans suppose to turn on to cool down AC CONDENSOR, IF NOT AC WONT WORK COOLING FAN COOLS DOWN REFRIGERANT SO IT CAN RECYCLE THROUGH THE SYSTEM AGAIN.your cooling is suppose to turn on when engine at a sit still if vechicle not moving as coolant temperature rises at a set point the cooling fans will turn on cool down engine.cooling fans dont turn on when you first cold stsrt vechicle unless you have AC SWITCH ON.if cooling fans dont turn on when vechicle at a long stand still or moving along slow traffic.if coolant temperature sensor been replaced and fuses and relays okay have dealership check see if pcm driver circuit working faulty pcm will cause cooling fans not to turn on.

2005 kia radiator fan wont come on

Usually one is a primary and the other is a secondary fan.
One runs anytime the computer needs air pulled thru the radiator or condenser, the other is used when the first fan is not getting the job done.
I doubt you can diagnose the problem without a scanner to "see" the computer command the fans on.

I just replaced thermostat and veh still running hot? Why?

hello tbrink. most likely your water pump is not running like it should resulting in it running hot. To test it do this: Get your car up to operating temperature, run the A/C. Once the temp is about 80-85 deg. Park it and let it sit idling with the A/c on for about 5 minutes, then turn the car off. let the car sit for about 5 minutes with the engine off. Then turn the ignition so that the temp gauge registers. You will probably see it spike to over 100 because the car has been sitting with a hot engine and no coolant flowing through to take away the heat. Note the temp, then start the engine. If the temp doesn't come down to normal within about a minute, then you probably have a bad pump. When functioning properly, as soon as the car is cranked the pump will move enough coolant through the head to drop the temp very quickly.

Both radiator cooling fans won't turn on vehicle overheats

The fans come on only when hot or the AC is on. There are many fuses that have to be good for it to work. The fan relay should have 2 pins hot with the key on, The other 2 should be ground. with the key off one should be hot and the other can then be ground the other pins that are ground one of them is the fan. the other becomes ground when the computer turns the fans on. If you don't have a pin thats hot at the relay all the time then theres a blown fuse or even the power wire from the battery at the battery
