Question about 2003 GMC Yukon XL
I just purchase an '03 Yukon XL and randomly the 2 rear doors along with the rear tail gate will not unlock. I would say about 25% of the time they will not unlock. They will not unlock w/ the key fob or even with the door switches on both front doors. You can reach in and manually unlock the two rear passenger doors but the tail gate is locked and there is no way of getting that open as there is no outside key access or release from the inside. Good luck getting anything of size out of the back. Any suggestions.
Remove the fuse panel on the driver side and find the door lock relays remove and replace the relays. Make sure they are seated in the fuse panel. That should fix the problem.

All three doors the 2 rear and tailgate not unlocking. Had same problem with my 03, first check the relay in fuse block. I took to dealer relay ok but the fuseblock had a crack and had to be replaced. Started as off and on and went to not working at all. Cost was about $400.00.

You have faulty/burned out lock motivator (or the little motor that kicks the mechanism to unlock the door)
Goto your dealer to get the part, shouldn't be expensive.
May want to make sure you don't have any bad relays, but I doubt that is the issue.
It should be a fairly easy fix and something that you could do with a 6 pack of bud light and a buddy. Just take the door panel off and look for the motor that is attached to a rod that goes back and forth that unlocks and locks the door.
Good luck, it should be an easy fix.
