Try to reach in behind the dust plate on the back and loosen the adjuster wheel you will need two small flat blade screwdrivers to lift the catch and turn the little star wheel to loosen the pads. then bfh!

Having trouble changing rear rotors on toyota camry 2004

There will be two threaded holes that you would screw two bolts in. When you tighten the bolts they cause the rotors to move away from the hub assembly.
After you get the bolts tight before the point of breaking hit the rotor with a hammer. (The bolts will break if you pout to much pressure on them)

Jammed brakes

if its the rear brakes probably the hand break has rusted on or the breakes have seized take wheels off and tap the rear hubs with a hammer not to hard as you could break the drums if this doesent work check behind the hubs and drums to see if there is any movment of the hand break cable if not these have seized or rusted on try spraying wd40 or equivalent into drums to try and release them

if its the front breakes the pads will have to be removed and the front pistons in the calipers will have to be check making sure that they are still in the cylinder runners and haven't poped out which they can if the breakes are very worn down usually to the metal hope this helps ivan

Is the rear brake drum and hub on a 1993 Plymouth Voyager one piece or is it two pieces that can be separated? (not equipped with ABS)

this 1993 voyagers rear brake durms are two pieces, make sure there are no lock clips over the studs which i dont think there are on this 1993, these drums sometimes are tough to remove off the hub, spray wd 40 around the hub and take a hammer and hit drum in area where the studs are, no hit studs, you will need to turn and hit, hit it hard so it breaks free, you will see it break loose from hub,i have had some that i haf to remove the center hub nut and bearing to remove the drum, then with drum and hub off spindle i then removed the drum from hub, hope this helps.

Good Evening, there are certain degrees on what would happen if your hub bearing breaks. First you could get a grinding or growling noise. Second you could develop a major wobble. A break off might occur if it does not have a cv axle through it such as rear hubs on a front wheel drive vehicle. As with anything there are a good number of bad things that can happen.

I am trying to remove a hub from the rear of 2000 hyundai sonata

With front wheel drive cars this is pretty much the way you do the rear hubs on rear drum breaks

I want to remove right rear wheel to check brake shoes. big central nut hard to remove.

You do not need to remove that nut to check your breaks. That nut removes the whole hub assembly. Don't mess with it.

Now you have what are called drum brakes on the rear of your car. The front has disk breaks. Take some wd-40 and spary on the lug bolts and the center hub. Let it soak for a bit and then take a hammer and tap around on the drum to free it up. your break pads are on the inside of that drum.

I cant get the hub off the back breaks on a ford feista 2001

It may sound odd, but have you released the parking brake?
If you have then you may need to un adjust the rear breaks as there may be a ridge in the drum.
