Question about 1995 Ford Escort
Take a spray bottle with water in it wait till it is dark spray your plug wires and have someone try to start the car look for blue lights coming from all the wires distributor cap and ignition coil or coils if you see blue one of the wires is arcing and is touching some metal in the engine area causing it to ground itself out and not starting meaning you will need a new wire replace them all if this is the case cause when you buy spark plug wires they come as a set if you only have one ignition coil that could have gone bad get back to me with your findings. Ps a little starting fluid will help just don't over do it

When you went threw the flooded roads it could have got a little bit of water into your engine so take out your spark plugs and start the engine to get the water out then drain your oil and see if it looks milky if so then change your oil and let your car run in idle for about 20 minutes then change the oil again. i hope this solves your problem
