Question about 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. There is a chance that the security system may have been activated causing the truck to not start. If this is the case, you need to call the dealership to get the code according to your VIN number. Each vehicle is different. Since it is cranking, you need to check for fuel and fire. Check your fuel pressure to make sure it is correct. You may have a bad fuel filter or fuel pump. If the fuel checks out, you need to check for fire at the plugs/coils. You could have an issue with plugs, coils, wires, distributor, dist.cap, coil packs. It may be a cam sensor or crank sensor, or even the computer. I know this is a lot but any of these parts can cause the truck to not start. It could even be a timing belt/chain. But, since it was moved, the security system makes sense. If you can, you need to try and get a code off your computer, if the check engine light is on. By doing this, the computer may have picked up on the problem. If you can't get a code, start checking parts. Rule out each one. You should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on. You can visually inspect the timing belt/chain. Same thing goes for your plug wires. Make sure nothing has come loose. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for using FixYa.

Make your father buy you a new truck...nah, just kidding, if it sounds like it wants to start, it may be fuel, check at the top rail for pressure (use a rag so you don't spray it all over yourself, turn on the key and depress the pin)-if it has fuel, it is most probably the crank sensor, try disconnecting it and connecting it to see if that works-check fuses for a blown ignition fuse or swap out relays.
