    Your solution link is bogus....
Any ways we found the fuse in the trunk, but as soon as we changed it, then started the car it blew again, bad ground wire?

SOURCE: replacing the battery in a 2001 mercedes benz

Battery base has a device that clamps the battery on a step/notch on the side. Use a ratchet with an extension to loosen. Once it is loose you can remove the battery.

My 2001 Mercedes S500 was recently rear-ended and the instrument panel no longer lights up nor do the gauges or my steering wheel controls work. What could this be?

The wiring in the back part of the car could be torn apart and affecting the other circuits. Suggest you trace out all the wiring in the back 1/2 of the car to ensure all wiring is grounded and wires are not broken /sheared contacting each other or metal. Then check all the fuses in all the fuse boxes -- pull them and inspect each one. Then check the fusible links I the engine bay. and then the battery and cable connections

2000 mercedes s500 brake light always on

The brake switch is a pressure switch mounted on the brake pedal, master cyclinder output which on pressure will contact and switch the brake lights ON.
So if the brake switch is defective then it must be replaced, check for wiring leads, the ground connection of the brake light assembly.

Check your fuse box and look for a blown fuse. Some raidos have an in-line fuse behind the raido under the dash.

Cigar lighting and auxiliary socket stoped work. I check fuses that books say goes to them. They are good.

Check all of the fuses, it has to have a blown fuse. Check under dash fuses and engine compartment for fuses.
